***Do Anything But Throw Me In That Briar Patch....***
Stardate:0402.14

Posted on 02/14/2004 2:49:10 PM PST by The Wizard

For those of you who don't know, in Disney's "Song Of The South" a character named Brair Rabbit told old Brair Fox and bear, "...do anything but throw me in that Brair Patch..."

when the tow old fools finally fell for it, they heard old Brair Rabbit say, "...BORN AND BREAD IN THE BRIAR PATCH..."

The point was he used strategery to out think them.....they thought they were hurting him, when they were actually doing what he wanted.....

Fast Forward to the GWB and the National Guard records

the dems wanted them and gwb DRAGGED HIS FEET, but they kept after them....

Now they've been released and we find out GWB was an exceptional pilot and a host of other wonderful things......

Moma said be careful what you wish for............

Note to dems: I would never play poker with GWB......

Give the enemy plenty of rope and they will hang themselves.

Let's watch the welcome for W at the Daytona 500 tomorrow.

On the other hand....

The vast majority of the people in the US don't follow politics close at all... they hear a commotion about "Bush was AWOL", but don't follow up to hear the truth. My bet is a good portion of the population will still think that Bush was AWOL when they get to the poll booth in November.

I disagree. Those that will vote heard all this in the 2000 election. It was nothing then and it is nothing now. Since then, the socialist on the left have attempted to create a scandal a month. If anything, your casual American will have tuned all of this out by now.

I doubt it. For one thing, there'll be a lot of water under the bridge at that point, that is, the Dems will have pulled many more stunts between then and now. Stunts that will make this one look like child's play, in fact.

The important thing for us to do is have all our facts in order and go out and do something with them.

For the first time ever, I have volunteered to be a GOP precinct captain. This doesn't mean I agree with everything; it simply means that I agree with almost everything, I want to have input, and I DO NOT WANT A DEM TO WIN.

So, in short, we've all got to get out there and work our butts off. Our well-informed butts, may I add.

This was a stupid play for the RATS,for the reasons you stated(very well) and more.
This would have worked better in September or October, the electorate won't remember this farce in November.

I can vouch for this. I got into something of a shouting match with some of the people I work with (military people, no less) who were almost literally screaming at the tops of their lungs that Bush had said that the threat from Iraq was imminent. I showed them the transcript, and that almost shut them up.

Song of the South from 1946 starring Robert Driscoll, Ruth Warrick, James Baskett, and Hattie McDaniel. Brer Rabbit was the hero. Song of the South is not PC so it is sold on the bootleg market. Uncle Remus has been eliminated from the ride at Disneyland. We Southerners have to resort to the laughing place at times, especially the way we are treated by racist ethnocentrical Northerners. Maybe we can send the Democrats to the tar pit.

I run into more people who just scan the newspaper headlines (BUSH WAS AWOL--BUSH LIED ABOUT WMD) and listen to a few minutes of TV or radio news mouthed by breathless liberal commentators for their information.

Conservatives tend to be news junkies. The majority of Americans are not. It is scary--especially when you have left-leaning media conglomerates like Viacom and Time/Warner responsible for Americas's news and cultural vision.

The good thing is, FOX News is still #1...at least amongst the news junkies. :)
