Hmmmmm.......I just reread your post, and it wasn't very clear, AAAC.

The majority of the 18 to 25 year olds in this country support the President. They outnumber the 'mindless gang bangers, pot heads and sex fiends.'

So I will again disagree with your original post.

We should encourage our young people to vote, and work through the many thriving College Republican clubs to register them, and get them out to vote in November. The future of their country depends on it.

It's going to be a LONG and nasty campaign waged by Kerry.

Look for LOTS of Class Warfare ('tax cut for the rich'), Divide Amerika tactics.

Bush can nail Kerry but he has to understand what drives JFK.

Kerry talks out of both sides of his mouth. Dubya should be able to handle his 'do one thing, say another' hypocritical ways ...

I think Bush will be very capable of showing he can wage the War on Terror for LONG-TERM U.S. security vs 'Feelgood' talk and do-nothing U.N. BS ...

Bush will appoint judges who will abide by the Constitution. Sure he will. He's had 3+ years and a majority in both houses.

Gee - did he have enough of a majority to override a filibuster? No, then maybe that is the next step.

Or, we can just help the democrats destroy this nation on the hope that "some" will be so shocked at how bad it is that they will elect a true "conservative".

This new true conservative president will put in conservative judges, throw out the government involvement in education, social security, medicare, medicaid, and seek the consensus of "some" conservatives as to each and every move he makes. All of this, of course, overriding the voices in the congress who might disagree.

All to be done in one term - with no side-stepping due to ability to get it done when you think it should be done.

Yep, that is the way to go. Surely we can take back the government from the democrats with this "new conservative" candidate and get him elected. Sure - we can do that - if he is just conservative enough and listens to our wishes and follows them. (/sarcasm)

I AM holding him accountable for his policies, Saber.

I'm holding him accountable for his responsibility as President to protect this nation from harm, which he has done incredibly well.

I'm holding him accountable to support the military, and to use them judiciously, which he has done........and is verified by Oliver North's observation that the military ADORE their Commander in Chief.

I'm holding him accountable for fulfilling his promise to lower taxes, which he has done, and to revive the economy after the triple hits of a xlinton recession, a brutal attack against America, and corporate scandals, which he has done.

I am holding him accountable for doing what is in his power to turn the morality of this sinking country around, and to stand up for the life of the unborn, the sanctity of marriage, and personal responsibility, which he has done.

We're ALL holding him accountable, and he has BEEN accountable, which is why he has maintained a 90% approval rating from his base.

When you don't politicians responsible for losing votes that were theirs to lose, you are not holding them accountable. Bush41 lost votes to Perot, and that was his own fault. If you've ever held him accountable for that, I've never seen it in any of your comments.

Two questions for you, Saber.......

When are you going to admit that there is only ONE issue important to you, and it is so stuck in your craw that it has distorted your perspective?

Why admit what isn't true?

If Illegal Aliens (I presume you're talking about that) were my only issue, or even my top priority, I certainly would not be voting to reelect President Bush, given his poor performance in this area, and desire to make a bad situation worse.

Why do you even bother with such an accusatory straw man?

Top priority right now is the preservation of the institution of marriage. It dwarfs the War on Terrer or the dissolution of our borders as a threat to our civilization. The President has been slow off the mark in this area, but appears to be going in the right direction. However, he's where he should have been seven or eight months ago. He's wasted a lot of time.

And may I please take your name off the Dose ping list?

Why would you want to do that?

Number one.......I am NOT talking about the President's father.........I am talking about the President.

They are two very different men.

I hold Bush41 accountable in running a very poor campaign. He made a few decisions I didn't agree with, but I frankly thought anyone voting for Perot had his head in the sand about how evil xlinton was. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Illegal aliens are pretty much the only thing you post about, Saber. It isn't too much of a stretch to say that it is your priority, if not your only issue. If I'm wrong, it's because I read what you say, and can't assess what you never say.

The President will defend the sanctity of marriage because he believes in it. 'Slow off the mark' is not something I consider hard evidence against him.

And you guess why I'd want to take you off the list..........you'd probably be right.

Number one.......I am NOT talking about the President's father.........I am talking about the President.

They are two very different men.

From your post at #259:

*Proverbs 26: 11........" As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly."

**A proverb for all who voted for Perot in 1992, and plan on voting 3rd party in 2004 to 'teach Bush a lesson

You were comparing 2004 to 1992, when Perot picked up votes that Bush 41 lost, and from there our conversation has ensued.

The lesson of 1992 is "don't squander your votes." It applies to every politician, including the current President Bush.

I hold Bush41 accountable in running a very poor campaign. He made a few decisions I didn't agree with, but I frankly thought anyone voting for Perot had his head in the sand about how evil xlinton was. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

I agree.

However, we have to face the fact that many voters will always be less informed, and also that not every informed voter is going to think as we do.

And uninformed votes count just as much as ours do.

Illegal aliens are pretty much the only thing you post about, Saber. It isn't too much of a stretch to say that it is your priority, if not your only issue. If I'm wrong, it's because I read what you say, and can't assess what you never say.

No, they pretty much aren't the only thing I post about, but they have been an area of concern for me for years. Since you live in Ohio, one can understand why they aren't a concern of yours.

So, I've intermittently spent a fair amount of time on those threads, and have made myself knowledgable on the subject, such that I can cut through a lot of the Bush Administration spin and the ensuing cheerleading from those inclined to believe it. I've brought a lot of information to the table in this forum, and I'm not clear as to why that would bother you.

The President will defend the sanctity of marriage because he believes in it. 'Slow off the mark' is not something I consider hard evidence against him.

Then you haven't paid attention. The consequences of Lawrence v. Texas were inevitable the moment the SCOTUS handed it down last Summer, and farsighted folks got going on a CMA while President Bush hemmed and hawed. I was quite pleased with his belated support for a CMA which was indicated at the SOTU, in fact I thought it was the high point of his speech. To date, however, President Bush has been quite flatfooted on the CMA.

And you guess why I'd want to take you off the list..........you'd probably be right.

I'm of no mind to read minds. You should speak yours.

I think you are just wanting to be argumentive here and overly optimistic.

I can't imagine why it would be unclear to you that as a conservative (Bush supporting conservative) on a conservative forum (largely Bush supportive) that you would automatically assume that I would be referring to a post about conservative youths as being mush heads. Maybe it's that same logic you are using to assume that the majority of youth in this country are conservative and Bush supporters.

I hope you are right that the youths of this generation are a majority conservative and that they understand what is on the line in this election and go vote but I would prefer that the mush heads who are more interested in their ability to get high, laid and depraved stay home. Or at least find some shame first before deciding on who is best fit to serve this nation.

Not to say that I don't think there are any just that I don't think they exist in the quantity and quality that you are suggesting. I'm not holding my breath in your optimistic appraisal of the situation but election day results (if not tampered with) will show how conservative American youths are and if they are a majority or not.

Children tend to run to their parents when the house is falling down around them too but that also doesn't make them more conscientious to the cracks in the underlying timbers before hand and certainly not more conservative.
Nothing wrong with being optimistic and I truly hope that I am wrong about my assessment and that you are right in yours.

I am truly not wanting to be 'argumentative' here.

I saw in your original post what seemed to be a stereotyping that I don't believe to be true, and I disagreed with it. You let me know in a later post that I interpreted your post wrongly.

Perhaps I am overly optimistic, but I'm basing it on the polls that are coming from a variety of sources, and my own contact with large numbers of high school and college kids.

But on election day, it's going to come down to who gets out the vote. Part of my optimism is that conservative young people are more likely to vote than the minds full of much type are........which is why I said that the RNC should work through college Republican clubs, and get them involved, and out on election day.

I understand what you're saying, Saber, but I see two levels of comparison here. One is to the two Presidents who are different people in different situations, and the other is the conservative voters, screaming on this forum that they will vote third party because the President is not making them happy enough, and are willing to risk the very future of this country by enabling a Kerry election (which, IMO is exactly what they did in 92.....the folly in the Proverb).

btw, I'm not interested in a debate on that issue here. I'll just assume you disagree with me.

Secondly, I really don't appreciate the 'you're from Ohio' so you don't care about immigration line. It's not as pressing an issue here, of course, but it is of great concern to me.

And all I can do is read the posts that I see of yours, and I haven't seen many on any other issue for the past month. Granted, I don't follow you around. I only observe what you say on the threads I'm on, and they seem to be almost entirely about one issue, and one issue alone.

As to the Dose, I'd rather answer that privately, so I'll freep you later.
