More than ever, "the media" is a tale of cities. One city is the establishment media - lots of editors, image-conscious advertisers and libel-suit-averse lawyers. Call that Tidy City. The other city is the non-establishment media - tabloidy, even fly-by-night-y, operated by scruffy types who might not know grammar, let alone Journalistic Ethics. Call that Mucky City, as in muckraker. Neither is going away. Indeed, in the Internet era, news consumers have their choice.
But, of course, the two media cities, Tidy and Mucky, aren't as separate as one might think. Occasionally, Tidy City reporters go slumming and, also, occasionally, Mucky City folks get the story first - and sometimes even get it right.
But in a recent instance, it looks as though Mucky City got it wrong.

The woman, Alexandra Polier, said that all the allegations were false. Who was it that put the name to the woman? It wasn't Drudge, at least not at first - it was some British paper.
Maybe they got the wrong name...

Polier's denial and her family's 180 were the result of lots of money, pressure and a desire not to fall out of a high window by accident.
Kerry is your usual DemocRAT candidate.

The media are leftist shills.
We know this.
Let's get over it, and find a different way in.
Start with ridiculing 'Rats at every opportunity.

Drudge has a differnent photo of the girl on his website today. A grainy black and white picture. He does not seem to be willing to give up on this story yet. Wonder why.

Looks like Drudge was right. He reported not that Kerry was having an affair, but that ABC, WashPost, et al. had been investigating the rumor that Kerry was diddling an intern. Sure enough, we hear that ABC did an interview with Alex two or three months ago - and seems to have no plans to air it. Now her dad flipflops from "sleazeball" to "I'll vote for him." There are just enough contradictions and inconsistencies that Drudge should stick with this story, even if it turns out that it's the Senate Finance Committee staffer and not Alex Polier who's had the "relationship" with John F'ing Kerry.

"lots of money"
Exactly! Hillary has no idea who she's dealing with. Mrs. Kerry has tons more money. Anything Hillary can throw at Kerry can be bought by Mrs. Kerry. Hehehehe! These people are so sickening.
They not only don't "deserve" to be in power, they aren't smart enough to be in power.

The Drudge Report, of course, will be forever rememberedMaybe that was the whole idea. Unfortunately, what is in Matt's best interests is not necessarily in the best interests of conservatives and this whole episode will likely be unfairly attributed to the evil, dirty tricks department of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy.

I guess Pinkerton is referring to the "Bush was AWOL" story which the mainstream media has gotten intentionally wrong for FOUR YEARS.

BTW, Pinkerton was told the TRUTH about the AWOL story, and given plenty of ways to verify it.
He chose to ignore it.
