The reaction to JJ gave me hope.And it should. Think of politics or culture represented on a graph, where all points of view are dots across a central axis. The median point is defined by the central weight of all those dots. Most dots will land around the middle, but many are way out. Those extremes actually weigh more against the average than those that are among the average, for they pull against it harder. Sometimes, though, it works against itself.
By that graph, JJ reset hundreds of thousands of those points, and the cultural mean has been moved that much to the right.
