Ah, how you underestimate Cheney. He has more moxy than you, Bush and I comnbined. Plus he communicates this clearly. Cheney would actually be a better President than Bush. As for nastiness, I don't think it will be any more nasty than typical elections. Liberals will just squeal louder and lie more since they are so frustrated at having a Republican President.




I think that Guiliani would be a better choice. Guiliani is too liberal for my tastes, but on the other hand, he might be able to deliver NY, and he is certainly the kind of guy who could sling mud with Kerry.

I also see Guiliani as too liberal. He's really a social liberal and a fiscal conservative. I'm suprised that youdon't see how superior Cheney is to Guiliani on ALL fronts.

I don't think it would be smart for Bush to wade too deep into the mire, and Cheney's too easy going to do it.


I think Bush must address all the lies hurled at him. A one sided mud fight isn't the way to go. As for Cheney he could cream them all in just a few words whereas Bush will run at the mouth. Bush isn't a good public speaker. Cheney is.

Rumsfeld is another political stunner. I'd rather see Cheney as Preseident and Rumsfled as VP. They'd be a far cry more effective than Bush on all fronts.

BTW, who cares about NY in a Presidential election. It's California that needs to be won. Look over the electoria votes and you'll see what states need to be won; hence focused on.

Rudy has a Napolean complex, and it comes through very readily. Big Dick Cheney makes affects that Kindly old uncle look, that makes the attacker look bad before a word is even spoken, then slips in the verbal stiletto, and smiles as he twists.

Cheny would really blow the "empty suit" ( Edwards ) away in a debate - he eviscerated the much more likeable ( gag ) and experienced Lieberman in 2000. Picture the same result with almost any other Dem VP under consideration - it would be real ugly ( in a nice, intellectual way - with a smile & a smirk ) .

However, if his health is going to pose a problem, then other alternatives have to be considered - including both Powell( doubt that he would want it ) and Ridge. Both of these are problematical for obvious reasons - let's just hope Cheny stays healthy & get him on the trail as soon as possible.

Now, if you're looking for a slot for Rudy - if, for some reason Ashcroft had to resign ( family issues, health issues only -), Rudy as Attorney General might be something open to debate.

If New York is even in the loop this time around, the Dems are in big trouble. If New jersey is even remotely on the horizon, the Dems are in big trouble ( McGreevy approval ratings are approaching the 20's....he's been at an all time low for the past year - and it keeps going down- he also made a big show of endorsing Dean - teeeheeeteeeheee). If Ahnold can turn the tide in California - it's over......don't think the dems aren't sweating big time about these three states.

Rudy for AG if Ashcroft left is a great idea. I hadn't thought of that. I like Ridge, but I need to see more of him. On the surface though a Pennsylvanian would be nice. Still , sticking with Cheyney is the smart move for now.
