Its foolish to believe that you can have a society of Docters, Lawyers, Police, and Teachers (2 out of the 3 are usually paid by the state).

A society needs to produce something!

you missed the part about architecture, lumber, resources, improvement, information, development, and agriculture. but i guess if that isnt enough for you, research and service areas could be explored as well.... as well as security, technology, space exploration, tourism, biochemistry, engineering, sales, management, training, etc.

and yes, many of those are paid for by the government, but many COULD be commercial and the Ted Turners and Bill Gateses of the world seem like the type to exploit that area if it provides a profit. in the mean time, the reason the production jobs are going overseas is because it's cheaper over there and there is nothing to punish the companies for doing so.

so you can either temporarily take those other jobs and suffer a loss until the economy picks up again, or you can sit here and complain until the government changes the rules and you still have to wait for them to take effect.

Don't forget to include prison guards and companies that build prisons: someone has to warehouse and guard all those "useless eaters" no longer needed to work in the US - the ones who just can't seem to make the switch to doing PhD work in biochemistry.
