I hope every one votes NO across the board. Its time to send the schoolchildren in Sacramento the message the adults are in charge.

I voted no via absentee...

Borrowing more money to pay existing bills is stupid, when the government should just (gasp) cut EXISTING spending!

What happens if 57 fails - a mixture of spending cuts and tax increases?

If we had a real Republican in office, you wouldn't even be asking this question. Spending cuts ONLY should be the answer.

I am not convinced that Prop 57 is the way to go. I think Tom Mcclintock's ideas should be tried first, and if Prop 57 fails, his ideas might be the best, last chance.

Prop 57 and 58 are linked. I think Prop 58 has some good provisions, but even if it wins, if 57 loses, they both go down.

The real scary one is Prop 56. It lowers the threshold for raising taxes to 55% vote of the legislature instead of the current 66.67%. In pro-56 commercials, it is passed off as a proposition designed to promote "fiscal responsibility." In fact, it is an invitation to raise taxes.

I think 57 will pass, thanks to our Governor. As for being a real Republican, we can begin to discuss that when we have another Republican who is half as popular as he is here in California .

With the exception of the accent, Arne is for real!! ;-)

Death to prop. 56!
57 & 58 can get out of town, too!
