TV has been censored since it started coming into America's living room in the 40's.

"America's living room"? Do you mean the one in the White House? I had this weird idea living rooms were owned by individual homeowners.

The standards and practices laws did a good job of keeping the crap out of your house.

Well, you're getting closer: "Your house". Seeing as it's my house, I'll be the judge of what does and doesn't come in, thank you.

And as for "crap", I couldn't think of a better term to describe the dumbed down, bland, condescending, arrogant, elitist, propagandized insult to my intelligence that passes for programming today. Good think government is there to "help" me!

Force the cable/satellite company to give me ala carte cable/satellite programming and only pay for the channels I want to see and I will do my own "censoring".

You pay for channels you don't want? Did the cable company make you "an offer you can't refuse"?

Censoring does work.

"It always worked for me!"

Your censorship non-sequitors notwithstanding, yes, I do pay for channels I don't watch. I have to buy the packages offered from the satellite if I wish to view the programming.

If you know of a satellite/cable company that will let you buy only the channels you want let me know which one that is. It would cut my satellite bill way down.
