Could this gay marriage situation have been created to cover up something else?

Just a thought.

I would not be shocked to learn that half of the demonrats sitting in congress and the senate owe their seats to vote fraud, most especially Hillary.

My husband and I usually spend about 4 expensive weekends in San Francisco annually. Guess what Gavin, we are boycotting SF now and will spend our money in points north and south of your city. The homeless almost chased us out and now the gay marriage license issue certainly will. Sad that he's got lots of work that needs to be done and chose to violate his constituents and burden his state/city even more. Can you see the pain and suffering legal quagmire that will arise when the courts overturn this...if they do.

It must not be going over too well if Barney Frank is opposing it. lol!

Rep. Frank opposes gay marriage effort

Thursday, February 19, 2004 Posted: 3:53 AM EST (0853 GMT)

SAN FRANCISCO, California (AP) -- Rep. Barney Frank said San Francisco's decision to challenge state law and grant marriage licenses to same-sex couples could damage efforts by gay rights advocates to defend the Massachusetts court decision legalizing gay marriage.

"I was sorry to see the San Francisco thing go forward," said Frank, an openly gay congressman from Massachusetts who shared his concerns with fellow Democrat and San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom before the city began marrying gay couples last week.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Frank expressed concern that the image of lawlessness and civil disobedience in San Francisco would lead some in Congress to support a federal constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.

Frank said he had hoped Massachusetts' Supreme Judicial Court decision upholding the right of same-sex couples to marry would serve as a national model for orderly, legal protection of gay marriage.

"If we go forward in Massachusetts and get same-sex marriage on the books, it's going to be binding and incontestable," Frank said Tuesday.

Instead, Frank said, San Francisco's move promotes the notion that unpopular laws can be broken or ignored.

"When you're in a real struggle, San Francisco making a symbolic point becomes a diversion," he said.

Same here. While I live in the United Soviet Socialist of Santa Clara County (San Jose to be specific), we are downright conservative compeared to "Baghdad by the Bay" (what Herb Cain called San Francisco. Pretty damn accurate before we removed Saddam). And I am just 50 miles away. I love "The City" (phsyically), but "The City" is litterally run by the insane.

BTW, the alternative in the last election...was someone even FURTHER left then Newsom. Scary.

This certainly is going to make the Democrats here likable. Especially since, that state law that they are breaking? It was passed by the voters of this once great state (still is in a way, even with the loonies in Sacramento).

"...minority residents had been intimidated and prevented from voting, and that some ballots may have been cast for Newsom in the names of dead people."

In other words, he ran as a Democrat.

Of course...the Democrats were being seriously challenged from the Left - and there was no way they were going to give up an office that they considered private property. They would have literally murdered people to get the Democrat elected.

Maybe. Now Newsome can claim that the investigations are politically motivated because of his "support for gay causes".

GOOD NEWS!

The licenses are no good . They are a state form that has been altered and will be returned. Read here:http://www.washtimes.com/national/20040219-123003-6956r.htm

IIRC, Newsom was considered, by SF standards, to be a conservative. This just looks like typical leftist tactics against a conservative in office.

I visited SF once in the 80's. The number of gays gave me the creeps and I vowed never to return.

Judge Roy Moore should be the mayor of San Francisco! He disobeyed another one of man's stupid laws and was removed from office, this newsome/nuisance did the same thing and is held as a national hero. What kind of argument could have been made had a conservative in the mayor's office started issuing gun permits in "willy-nilly" fashion?

I have never been to Calf. and will never go there if I can help it. Even as a child in the 1950s Calf. was call a place were women were women and men are too. At about the same time even then it was known that you don't wear red socks because doing so meant that you were queer. That came out of Calf. (when was the last time you seen a man wear red socks?)
