I have a question:

If Kerry saw all these bad things being done did he try to stop them? Who did he turn in? Who did he tell and what was done to them?

I don't believe he saw these things and if he did he them I think he did NOTHING to stop them.

I remember a quote I heard once which will serve him well if what he says is true. ( I hope I remember the quote correctly)

* God reserves a special place in HELL for those who stand neutral in a time of moral crisis.*

Well, you're right. If he really DID see these things, he had an obligation, as an officer, to stop them.

If he didn't stop them, that is a crime per se.

I was wondering about that too. All this from a boat, and in only FOUR months! Man, was he ever BUSY!

Yup my point exactly! Which of the 2 is worse I don't know, but I don't want this guy to be my president.
Clinton was bad enough, but now we have a *Sociopathic mental monster* just a breath away from the nomination. These thoughts creep into my head late at night and scare the $#@ out of me!!!

He did all this while on a boat.

My thought exactly! He was in the NAVY. The only time I've read that he beached the boat, whose crew...presumably, the gunner, had let loose a fusilage of firepower to firing from the shore, was to dash behind the on-shore hooch and shoot a wounded man....no one actually saw the action, however. He returned to the boat, according to the account, brandishing the enemy gun. For this action he received the silver star? Regulations say that there must be 2 witnesses for such an award to be given. Who wrote up the commendation? Hmmmmmmmmm.

Very strange Senator. I rode Vietnamese Alphas and Tangos out of Dong Tam. The Alphas carried 20mm guns forward and midships. On the stern were mounted, m-60s, port and starboard. I fired from the advisors bunker with an m-16 an m-79 and a very old Savage 12 gauge pump shot gun.
Search and destroy missions were supported from the rivers but were carried out by foot soldiers.
I doubt if you were involved in search and destroy missions other than in a support roll. You know very well the purpose of free fire zones. It was to suppress transport of enemy personnal and materiel. That is what interdiction means.
Free fire zones were clearly known through out the regions of Vietnam. If I saw a kid in a small boat cutting through a free fire zone I spent a lot of lead splashing water all a round him so that in the future he would stay clear of the area. If an adult was in a free fire zone and couldn't be interdicted it was another story. Free fire zones were some of the richest areas for night ambush. No one got a break after dark in such a location. That is when the V.C. tried to move. The secondary explosions were proof positive of the cargo on board.
Some men were indeed cowboys and needed to be weeded out in a hurry. I think that may have had much to do with the senator's short tour in Vietnam.
Ship his ass to Hanoi and let him be tried as a war criminal. He is a disgrace to those who served with honor in the brown water Navy.
EM2 River Assault and Interdiction Division 72.

"He now makes much of his decorations from the war in Vietnam, to appeal to centrists and conservatives, without reminding those audiences that he for long was a leader of Vietnam veterans against the war. Indeed, assiduous searchers, looking for his vulnerabilities, will find much of interest in that period of his life. For example, the fabled and distinguished chief of naval operations (CNO), Admiral Elmo Zumwalt, told me -- 30 years ago when he was still CNO -- that during his own command of US naval forces in Vietnam, just prior to his anointment as CNO, young Kerry had created great problems for him and the other top brass, by killing so many non-combatant civilians and going after other non-military targets.

"We had virtually to straight-jacket him to keep him under control," the admiral said. "Bud" Zumwalt got it right when he assessed Kerry as having large ambitions -- but promised that his career in Vietnam would haunt him if he were ever on the national stage.

It is that sort of thing that senators don't have to worry about. But if they become a front-runner for president, the whole ball-game changes. Their past is scrutinized with a fine-tooth comb. In Kerry's case, for example, he has shown precious little interest in Asia since his tour in Vietnam, and there is little doubt that he will follow the standard Democratic party, pro-Beijing, line. But every word he's ever spoken on it will be scrutinized."

What was Kerry's injury that sent him home? I asked my hubby and he said he got his "nads" hurt or something like that, but he was not sure.

If this was it then I know 2 guys who deserve medals because I personally injured their *nads* when they got too fresh!! Who knew? LOL

Interesting that it takes a freeper to bring this to light -- it was only voiced three years and now he's a candidate for President!
