Kerry was asked whether he committed war crimes in Vietnam. Kerrys response, on the 1971 tape, was: I would have to say that, yes, yes, I committed the same kind of atrocities as thousands of other soldiers have committed in that I took part in shootings in free-fire zones.
Nailed by his own words.

I have a question:
If Kerry saw all these bad things being done did he try to stop them? Who did he turn in? Who did he tell and what was done to them?
I don't believe he saw these things and if he did he them I think he did NOTHING to stop them.
I remember a quote I heard once which will serve him well if what he says is true. ( I hope I remember the quote correctly)
* God reserves a special place in HELL for those who stand neutral in a time of moral crisis.*

Very strange Senator. I rode Vietnamese Alphas and Tangos out of Dong Tam. The Alphas carried 20mm guns forward and midships. On the stern were mounted, m-60s, port and starboard. I fired from the advisors bunker with an m-16 an m-79 and a very old Savage 12 gauge pump shot gun.
Search and destroy missions were supported from the rivers but were carried out by foot soldiers.
I doubt if you were involved in search and destroy missions other than in a support roll. You know very well the purpose of free fire zones. It was to suppress transport of enemy personnal and materiel. That is what interdiction means.
Free fire zones were clearly known through out the regions of Vietnam. If I saw a kid in a small boat cutting through a free fire zone I spent a lot of lead splashing water all a round him so that in the future he would stay clear of the area. If an adult was in a free fire zone and couldn't be interdicted it was another story. Free fire zones were some of the richest areas for night ambush. No one got a break after dark in such a location. That is when the V.C. tried to move. The secondary explosions were proof positive of the cargo on board.
Some men were indeed cowboys and needed to be weeded out in a hurry. I think that may have had much to do with the senator's short tour in Vietnam.
Ship his ass to Hanoi and let him be tried as a war criminal. He is a disgrace to those who served with honor in the brown water Navy.

Interesting that it takes a freeper to bring this to light -- it was only voiced three years and now he's a candidate for President!
