I can't remember the source, but I seem to remember reading a study that showed as your socio-economic status decreased, your likelyhood of being significantly overweight increased.

As for these two women, I think it's more weird how much the daughter looks like her mom; it's like looking at her much younger twin.

I remember reading something like that too. It said that the higher you go (or wish to appear to be) in socio-economic status (a.k.a. social ladder) the slimmer your figure.

Yet oddly enough, at the very top while women are quite slim (skinny?) men tend to be just a little bit heavier then when they were at the next-to-the-very-top rung of the social ladder.
