No more "Signs." From your lips to God's ears (though Hollyweird will no doubt find other utterly witless ways to blur the line between suspending disbelief and hanging disbelief by the neck until it is dead).

Make a historical film on the greatest man ever, and you get condemned. Make a movie about a kid humping an apple pie, and they can't wait to make the sequels.

That's hardly justification for Cavuto to declare that Gibson is a "marked man", and that people are out to "exact revenge" on him for daring to make a movie about Jesus. And it certainly doesn't justify the opening line: "Now they're threatening Mel Gibson." Mel himself denied that "Hollywood" had had a bad reaction to him over this movie. In his interview with Dr. James Dobson on Focus On the Family he said "actually Hollywood has been really cool about it."
If he does find that Hollyweird shuns him maybe he can go back down under and make movies in New Zealand with Hollywood outsider and rank amateur Peter Jackson. Perhaps a sweeping epic about the U.S./Soviet Cold War culminating with Pres. Reagan's masterful victory.

They're already so stuffed with themselves now that there's no more room. Hollyweird is right! GO MEL, GO!

From what I keep reading from those who have seen the movie, you will be so caught up in what's going on that you won't care about subtitles or anything else. It is a riveting movie. Go see it, my FRiend.

It already is. They don't want to be faced with their own sin or the one who died for that sin.

Cavuto bump. Wow. So incisive, so simple. Amazing that someone who writes so well is also brilliant at finances.

re: "Passion" will be nominated for 5-7 academy awards, though it may not win any.)))
If there were an award for "Best Use of Aramaic in a First Century Epic"--this would still not be nominated. The academy will have to pretend that this movie doesn't exist.

Our theater doesn't sell tickets until the day of the showing, so I am going to head up there around 7AM tomorrow morning so that I can get tickets for my entire family. Having sat outside the theater for the past two Star Wars films, I wonder how this line will be in comparison.
To: TigersEye
I've seen Gibson in several interviews--(although I try to avoid watching interviews of any entertainer I enjoy)--and he seldom makes any sense at all. He often acts stupid or incomprehensible--and he can't possibly be as stupid as he acts and have the career and family he has. Either he cannot manage interviews, or he has decided to make absolutely no sense to his interviewers so he won't have to submit to many.
To: truthandlife
Now where are the Tim Robbins and their "chill wind" speech. This is real blacklisting and deserves condemnation. Somehow, I think crickets will be loud and clear in Mel's defense.
To: Marysecretary
I don't think I can avoid seeing the film, and I rarely attend movies. The last movie that ever generated this much controversy that I can recall was
The Exorcist. This is bigger than Jaws or even the first Star Wars.
This is no longer just a movie; it's an event, and even if I wanted to skip it, it would be like missing an important part of American cultural history.
To: truthandlife
I have never been to a movie theater but I will go see this one.

I never saw the Exorcist or Jaws. Loved the Star Wars series though. I don't go to movies either. I can't wait to see this.
