Maybe I suffer from having a child who never caused me any behavioral problems. I am lucky. But, still, there were times when I regret having said things which were embarrassing to her. I can't imagine a girl being treated like that by her own father in front of people she must face day in and day out. I hope he regrets his stupidity for the rest of his life. I also think that this act just might make her more rebellious if she even is rebellious at all. It certainly isn't going to accomplish anything positive.

"I hope he regrets his stupidity for the rest of his life."

If he's a generally good father, he will, every time it crosses his mind.

"It certainly isn't going to accomplish anything positive."

It probably won't, unless he has an unusually understanding and forgiving teen. But if he's a generally good dad, by the time she's in college, it will be a blip on the radar screen.
