I'm all for letting the school know how you feel, and I support you in that. Good luck. I hope you will do it in a way that does not severely embarrass your wonderful child. I know mine would be horrified at the thought of her mother making 'a scene'.

You told this mom to do what ever she chooses to do in such a way as to not "embarrass her wonderful child". Yikes.
And - Oh Pleeeze! We got a major battle going on!
Our kids are embarrassed by the way we wear our hair or our shoes, that's kids - You are giving a person advice on how to handle a very serious situation based on whether her kids will be embarrassed??? - now we are really gonna make a difference!
Moms and dads do not embarrass their kids by standing up bravely for what is right and true - they give them an example to follow!
