How things have changed on the once bucolic L.I. of my youth. Seriously, the LIE was a dream drive over 30 years ago and the SOB(South Oyster Bay X-Pressway was empty.When my husband and I go to Port Washington to visit relatives we usually travel out to Orient to take the ferry home to Boston. Easier than the commute back toward the city.

Bucolic days are long gone... I find the train to be best for back and forth. Long Island is okay but the lifestyle is not really enjoyed as much I think. People are working too much unfortunately.
