THANKS, THIS IS ALWAYS ONE OF MY FAVORITE POSTS EACH DAY
To: Diogenesis
Your the Best, I wait each day for your post. If wishes were will, mine would be to see your post continue not just for myself but for all the people in our country who have not a computer. Your information would be accepted in the far reaches of our farm lands and backwoods where the people only see whats on their local TV stations which is so biased that they too will never know the good this country has done for so many. I pray for your health and well being always. Thanks again for so much.

I don't reply to these posts very often, but I do look at them and enjoy them. The photos cause me to well up with pride in my country and its great people and they usually get me choked up. I always wish that every citizen in this country could get a dose of this every day.
Thank you!

Iraq is not the only place American troops are busy and alert lately:

A U.S. Marine stand guard at US Embassy in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, February 24, 2004. About 50 U.S. Marines arrived in Haiti to protect its embassy. President Jean-Bertrand Aristide appealed for international help to deal with the armed rebellion against him, adding he feared the unrest would lead to a boat people crisis as refugees try to reach Florida. Aristide also said he feared thousands would die should the rebels take on the capital.

Thanks for the ping, and the Haiti pics, archy.
Still waiting for someone in the press to look at the second half of that island - Dominican Republic - which did far better than Haiti under a very different (conservative) leader, didn't they? Seems some obvious lessons to be learned here.

Seems some obvious lessons to be learned here. Yep. Though note that they had to assassinate their dictator [Trujillo,in 1961, ask me about it sometime] to do it, and were subsuquently visited by the 82nd Airborne during *Operation Power Pack* when it looked like they were about to go communist.

You may also want to have a look at this: Weren't you one of those folks complaining about all the Iraqi kids being killed by sanctions? Who later said we should allow sanctions to continue instead of taking out Saddam for noncompliance with the cease-fire of 1991? Who then screams about two thousand war dead instead of realizing how many Iraqi lives will be saved by not having Saddam's regime around any more? And who responded to the stories of mass graves in Iraq by calling Bush a worse tyrant than Saddam?
Yeah, that's right, that's you.
