Dean will fade back into the woodwork and continue in his medical profession. He is yet another also ran politician that could say to his grandchildren, "I ran for president of the United States"
Buh Bye Deano. Sorry to see you go.... so quick

Dean was in the way of the agenda of the NewYorkTimes and Boston Globe.
They hate voters anyway - and want their Lewis-Margaret (SJC Chief Justice born in Africa now married to NYTime's Anthony Lewis)
to continue decide all legal matters involving Massachusetts (as is done now).

"Dean will fade back into the woodwork and continue in his medical profession"Dean hasn't practiced medicine in well over ten years. It would take him probably 12 months, or more, working under supersion to requalify in a specialty.
He'll never practice hands-on medicine again.
