One of my infrequent vanity posts. All comments are welcome.
Oddly enough, Mr. Brinker's financial advice is almost always right on target!

What network was this crap on? Who advertised on it?

I love Bob Brinker. I have a routine for Saturdays. I work my butt off until 3:45pm (15 minutes before he goes on the air) at which point I put a beer in the freezer to super chill them. When Bob comes on, with his monotone droll, I sit and relax, nursing me brew. The man is hypnotic. After about 20 mintues I am out cold until 6pm, when the wife sends the kids upstairs to wake me for dinner. It's my favorite part of the weekend. Thanks, Bob!

Thanks for that! I ehard him when he said this and I was shocked to hear what he said. Brinker has always seemed so level-headed. It turns out that's not the case.

Good one Al. I will keep this succinct report on 2000 Election for future discussions with my Dumbo-demos..
Thanks, EV

Wow. I certainly think you covered all the bases in that letter. Bravo.

Why was Bob talking about the 2000 election in 2004?

Well said. You do good work.
Brinker is certainly not on our side.
To: Alberta's Child
Fine effort and letter. I suspect it will not be read on the air, though.

That's a great letter. In defense of Bob Brinker, though, he also said during that same broadcast that Nader entering the race was a good thing (for protecting the tax cuts)since it would detract votes from Kerry and thus help Bush. Since I only hear snippets of the show I cannot comment specifically on the subject of your letter

Wow, this is good. Thanks for posting and I disagree that this is a vanity post. Vanity posts begin and end with "I" sentences ;and, express feelings over thought or facts. Wish a newspaper would publish this.

The ignorance of American voters about our system of electing government officials is a scathing indictment of our nations failure to educate its people about their responsibilities as citizens of this great country, but it is not a valid reason to change a process that has worked for more than 200 years. Anyone who does not understand how our system of government works ought to stay home on Election Day (along with all of those Palm Beach County voters who were incapable of using a ballot that even an average first grader could understand) and leave the governance of this country to those who do. Very well stated! Worth repeating.

Beautiful! Are you going to send it to him? I would.
However, before I did, I'd correct two spelling errors in the fourth line in the paragraph you noted as 2.
Brinker has made some sizeable money for me, and kept me from losing sizeable money. This year, I subscribed to his newsletter, but after hearing him this past weekend, he's seen the last of my money.
By the way, while he was whining about Nader taking votes away from Gore, he might have mentioned that all that Algore had to do was carry his own state - or Clintons - and he would be President.

I suggest you run this back through a spell checker and then read it slowly and carefully. If necessary, have someone read it out loud to you. I haven't proofread it all, but the word "case" in boldface seems to be a typo.

His call to get into the market last February was golden. I ignore everything he says except for his long term market calls.

Excellent, excellent letter.
I occasionally listen to Bob Brinker and like him when he stays away from political commentary. I credit him with my decision to mostly get out of the stock market by September, 2000.

...so much so that Al Gore himself was moved in the last days of the 2000 campaign to sanctimoniously proclaim that the constitutional process must be upheld. It is amazing how few people today even remember that pompous crap. Good call. Almost forgot that one.
