So what are the chances that Congress will ratify this treaty?
To: Tailgunner Joe
What can we do to get the word out on this? Looks like Cheney is also supporting this. We need to let our congressmen know this is not acceptable!

It looks like this has flown under FR's radar. I just heard about this on True North with Laurie Morrow, a local conservative talk radio program, in an interview with this author. He says this treaty is flying under everyone's radar and is being fast-tracked to approval. The Bush administration approves of it although when asked about it the administration replied 'it doesn't know anything about it.' Gaffney thought that was plausible as this treaty is intentionally being kept low-profile.

These include the power (for the UN) to: regulate seven-tenths of the world's surface area, levy international taxes, impose production quotas (for deep-sea mining, oil production, etc.), govern ocean research and exploration, and create a multinational court to render and enforce its judgments. Some even aspire to giving the U.N. some of our warships so it can have "blue hulls" to go along with its "blue helmets" to ensure that the ISA's edicts are obeyed. The treaty effectively prohibits two functions vital to American security: collecting intelligence in, and submerged transit of, territorial waters.

The administration has frequently handed our sovereignty to corporations. Sickening. I am not a citizen of Multinational Corporation X.

Of course Bush knows about it. They wouldn't have brought this out of limbo without his consent.

"U.S. adherence to this treaty would entail history's biggest and most unwarranted voluntary transfer of wealth and surrender of sovereignty." This doesn't seem to be of the slighest concern to our President. His actions with the UN during this term have shown this. The man is a globalist and a nations surrender of sovereignty to the UN is just one of th necessary steps to bring about a One World Government.
Bush supporters, please don't start ranting about how we attacked Iraq without the UN's permission. Instaed look at the $120 million he wants to give to the National Endowment of the Arts in NYC.
"The truth of the matter is that the Law of the Sea Treaty is so defective, so contrary to U.S. interests that the only way it could possibly be ratified is for it to be blown through the Senate when no one is looking."
Now if you don't think this is possible, please look at where a package of 34 treaties, all of which were ratified by a show of hands -- no recorded vote.
Tell me how much you respect your Senator and I will tell you to take off the damn blinders! While you're at it, tell me which of President Clintons EO's that President Bush has withdrawn.

I could give a rat's ass whether he wrote it or Dennis Kucinich. The fact is that this treaty is being fast-tracked. That's inexcusable. It's yet another stride toward global citizenship and I want nothing of it.
