Resurrection

He that is entered into his rest hath himself alos rested from his works, as God did from his.
Hebrews 4:10

"At his creation man stood in a highly singnificant relation to God’s rest. Adam, we are told, was created on the sixth day. Clearly then, he had no part in God’s first six days of work, for only at their end did he exist. Thus God’s seventh day was Adam’s first. Whereas God worked six days to enjoy his sabbath rest, Adam began life with the sabbath. God works before he rests. Man, to be in harmony with God, must first enter into God’s rest; then alone can he work. This principle underlies all Christian service. Moreover, it was because God’s first creation was so truly complete that Adam’s life could have this satisfying starting point. And here is the gospel: that for us sinners God has taken one further necessary step, and has completed also the entire work of salvation. We need do nothing whatsoever to merit it. At once, by an act of simple faith, we can enter into the sabbath rest of his finished work."

Watchman Nee

Man is neither designed nor equipped to discover, diagnose, cauterize, cut out, remove, or in any way heal another man’s sin. To say that “love hurts” or “you gotta be cruel to be kind,” as the songs tell it, is to describe fallen man’s attempts helter-skelter to repair the hearts of other men. God alone is capable of the precision of both eye and hand such surgery requires with His own double-edged sword, which is the Word of His mouth. In the Hippocratic sense, therefore, it may be said that God (Who is Love) never wounds but only heals, does not hurt but always cures, for He alone does no harm. Amen.

Jeremiah 17:9,10,14.
