The Floridian Latino (Cuban and non-Cuban alike) community will not like this.

"As a Mexican-American, I deeply resent being called a racist and branded a white man," So whitey gets the back of the hand from both sides. They're all race baiting a$$holes. What a shame to see them square off against each other.

They call the amnesty policy racist because Haitians are refused while Cubans are allowedSigh. Ignorant Blacks continue to reveal their racist colors. Our amnesty policy toward Cubans is soley a result of the Cold War. It has nothing to do with race.

Being a Democrat means never having to say you're sorry.

Congressional Black Caucus Chairman Rep. Elijah E. Cummings of Maryland, Hispanic Caucus Chairman Rep. Ciro D. Rodriguez of Texas, both Democrats, did not return calls seeking comment on Mrs. Brown yesterday.Of course not. That would take both ethics and cojones. Neither of with liberal politicians possess in any great quantity.

Keep talking, Corrine. The Latino vote will soon be 90% Republican -- as well as 20% of the electorate.

So were the microphones on and the tape rolling during this exchange? I think it would make a DANDY campaign commercial to be run in Florida, Texas, California, Arizona...

She has lots of Latin Americans in her district! A Latino Republican needs to run against her!! LOL!!

You are absolutely correct. Cuba is all about political positioning against a repressive Communist government. It has nothing to do with race.
And speaking of race, there are many black Cubans. Some of whom have escaped to the US and have been welcomed here, with no regard for the fact that they are black.
Maybe they are not "black enough" to suit certian black Democrats.
And, buy the way, has anyone besides me noticed that the US position has a lot more to do with doing the right thing for Haiti. And that this position requires us to do percious little to prop up Aristide?
This is nothing about racism, unless all those blacks in Haiti are also racist for rising up against the Aristide Administration.

This should get as much media time as Trent Lott's remarks. Will it? Hardly. We need to: contact Nancy Pelosi's office en masse asking for her resignation, Tom DeLay's as well, and make sure this gets all over the press. Prominent Hispanic Americans need to make sure that the media does not gloss over this as they did Jim Moran's remarks, or that Dim assembleyman in NY who thought it was appropriate to just go up and hit white people.

The lamestream media is silent on this episode of racism. Of course! They are far too busy worrying about how movie goers may be affected by the inner demons of Mel Gibson, and haven't the time to cover the outright bigotry of a memeber of Congress...

Thanks for the post
"We would disagree with her assessment that Latinos are white," said spokeswoman J.C. Flores. "We consider Latinos a distinct ethnic and racial group."
Sorry to hear that, regardless of skin pigmentation.

"White men all look alike to me".
It's so nice to know that I look like Clark Gable. I've always wanted to look like Clark Gable. Thanks to the good congresswoman, now I do. Now, if I just had his voice.
