I don't think he will ever work in that town again.

I think that we can all be instruments for good if we open the music to the creator to write in our souls. God bless this man's efforts. May he be rewarded.

The way things are shaping up he will never have to work again. Everything has come together for this one and I believe Mel Gibson is going to have a place in the history books.

I think all this stuff is over-rated. A lot of people seem to be forgetting Mel Gibson won best picture (and best director too? don't remember) for Braveheart. That was long after he went public with his faith, his opposition to abortion, he opposition to homosexuality. I almost fell on the floor when that happened. I even made sure to watch the Oscars to the end that year, because I was CONVINCED they'd never give it to him. I'm still amazed, I would have lost a bunch of money making bets on that. And let's not forget, Gibson is not just a Christian, but a Catholic, the only religious group I know of that has been discriminated against by the gov't in the US (via the Blaine amendments). Nobody in hollywood is going to turn up their noses at a movie that takes in 50-100 million during its opening week. And what if they do? Mel Gibson doesn't need their money, he didn't need it to make this picture and he won't need it to make the next one.
The only person I'm a little concerned about is the fellow who plays Jesus (I can't spell his name), according to a friend of mine who knows a lot about movies, there is a long history of career failure after actors portray Jesus.

. . . I gave it all up to the Lord and whatever came out. I didn't have a lot to do with the writing of this music. I have done a lot of music, but literally things would just come out. Thanks for posting this special look into what a test working on this production was. John Debney's life was changed. He will receive many blessings for using his talents and working so hard on this wonderful film.

Oh hey, this article is bringing up a question. I haven't seen the movie yet and want to ask those who have.
Satan is portrayed in the movie as a someone who looks "normal" yet has that bit of an unnerving twist with a bug crawling in his nostril. While he's managed to make the world dismiss him because of cartoonish caricatures or lack of empirical evidence, he is quite obvious to me in his mind-games, lies, and temptations, not to mention the disruptions and chaos he causes. How well is this portrayed in the Passion? And how well do you think people will pick up on that and see it for what it is?

I saw the film last Wednesday; probably the greatest motion picture ever made. Before I saw it, I had wondered about the music - whether it might be classical religious music. Debney created something new and perfect; it did not intrude but it supported. Everyone associated with this film was inspired.

Mel Gibson doesn't need their money, he didn't need it to make this picture and he won't need it to make the next one. Which is great! After this film, people will trust Mel to give us more films filled with moral absolutes. Hollyweird will never figure it out.
