Mel is being blacklisted for being a Christian and a Conservative? Well, as a CC who has been baning his head against the new Hollywood Blacklist for 15 years, all I can say is ... "Welcome to the club, Mel. It's nice to have such a high profile face on the quietest scandal in Hollywood."

"I won't. And while they are "doing the 360," they will try to portray it as a 180."

Excellent point!

The original Hollywood blacklist wasn't in the 50's, it was in the 30's, as Stalinists infiltrated Hollywood and were proactive in sabotaging the careers of any anti-Communist they found.

You've got a movie here that's going to outdo 90% of the trash that comes out of that town

You hear that, Hollywood? If you started making wholesome movies again, people would start returning to the theaters in droves. You hear that? Droves.

People who haven't been to a movie theater in years are going to see this movie. Hollywood should get a clue.

I'm surprised they didn't realize that the movie would do this well. The hype had already started during the making of the movie, say a year ago, or whenever it was. Didn't they hear the hype? People were already excited about it then, and have been eagerly anticipating it ever since.

Do these people live in a bubble?

And I will admit to you that in my case, maybe I've personalized it too much because I know full well where I'm not going to be allowed, where I can't go. I'm talking about career-wise. I know full well what I'm not going to be allowed to do because of what I believe. I know full well. We've seen it happen. I've seen it happen. I know full well where I can go say whatever I want to say and where I can't.

Yes

A Leftist does not like listening to conservatives. Leftists congregate with other Leftists, read Leftist authors, and listen to NPR. The buzz about Passion flew right under their radar

I would love to see the faces of a Hollywood liberals when they are accused of blacklisting!

Hollyweird is a modern-day Soddom and Gomorroah, so I can understand their wanting to distance themselves from this movie. It reminds them of what they are gonna have to atone for some day.

Another reason H'weird is angry: people didn't listen to the pan-dits. We paid no attention to those people behind the curtains when they pronounced the movie a horrid, violent failure. We went to the theatres anyway. We bought tickets, we came out with tears running down our faces, and--for many--our lives changed by the power of that movie.

That has got to be annoying, when we ignore all their pundit-y wisdom, and, indeed, the pundits themselves.

"No wonder they prefer they prefer the cowardly route of remaining nameless."

They probably are members the "Academy".
I wonder what treatement the motion picture academy [Oscars] and the foreign press [Golden Globes] will give this movie at nomination and awards time?

"The Passion of the Christ": Best Picture?
"The Passion of the Christ": Best screenplay?
James Caviezel: Jesus: Best actor?
Maia Morgenstern: Mary: Best actress?
Monica Bellucci: Mary Magdalene: Best supporting actress?
Hristo Jikov: John: Best supporting actor?
Francesco De Vito: Peter: Best supporting actor?

I wonder how they can sweep this movie under the rug? If it does not get any nominations, then as the song goes: "I see your true colors shining through..."

And I am glad Rush stuck to the USCCB; a phoney, two bit, bunch of lily livered liberals if ever there were some. Phooey on them. Thumbs up for El Rushbo. I do believe he's back. V's wife.

Mel goes to the lectern. "First, I'd like to thank Jesus for His sacrifice on the cross to wash away the sins of the world. And I'd like to thank the Holy Spirit for ..."

Rush was had. The USCCB didn't retract any statement. They repudiated the scholars group last June and said they would release a statement when the movie came out. What they released was that statement (not that it's worth a bucket of warm spit).

Because you're gutless. These are gutless people. Now, if gutless people are standing up, how can gutless people stand up for Jesus Christ? They ran away from this, and now of course, "Can we come back in? Can we come back in?

I agree. Are these wishy-washy people who only want to "go with the flow" and stand for nothing, or do they really want to "get in" now.

Or?

Looking at these people, they seem to emulate some of the disciples who were also "gutless" and took off during Christ's Passion (with exception to both Mary's and "The Beloved" disciple who stood by them). None of those people wanted to stand up for Christ, (or feared to) until He actually came back to them and provoked them to believe in Him.

It would be nice to have the later be true, only in these "experts" hearts does God know the truth.

(waving to Jay! I'm back!)

The USCCB is like Peter, denying Christ out of fear for personal safety.

And those Catholics who know about such gutless behavior but who do not try to do anything about fixing it are likewise denying Christ out of personal comfort - "I want everyone (Father/friends/parishioners) to like me"

Rush was right there.

I know that "Passion" coverage has already exceeded saturation point

I have to disagree with you. I can't get enough of any coverage of any aspect of this movie.
