ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - The teacup ride has turned tame and longtime fans of the Fantasyland attraction are not happy. The Mad Tea Party ride with 18 giant spinning teacups was recently modified in the name of safety to make it harder for people to spin.

The ride, which was built in 1995 when the park opened ...That would be 1955, of course.

Once again, PC Society makes the whole class stay after school for the actions of one bozo.

This might not be a bad thing. I had a seizure on the teacup ride when I was about 8.

Leaning backward for maximum G-force. Grand mal and scared the sh*t out of the other kids and the attendants.

My barracks room-mate/best friend in the world were asked politely not to ride them again that day because we were spinning them so hard.

Didn't that happen on the park's opening day? I remember my grandmother talking about a kid that had a seizure on opening day.

And they already got rid of the sky ride and Mike Fink's Keel boat ride. It's not Disney anymore.

And don't get me started about Mr. Toad's wild ride.

I don't know how a whole generation of us survived being kids--riding our bikes with no helmets, using swings with no safety seats, sliding on giant slides and riding
merry-go-rounds in local playgrounds. To listen to the Nannies at least half of us should be dead and the rest crippled for life. Amazing how we survived with no more than a few scrapes and an occasional broken arm.

The teacups were one of the best rides in the park! I grew up with those teacups. We'd spin the wheels so fast we'd get road (palm) rash if we weren't careful.
Looks like Disneyland rides are going to morph into those decrepit, useless and oft "closed for repairs" people movers... truly a back to the future moment.

Mr Toad was one of my favorites. Way after childhood my kids and I would head to that ride, first thing after we got in the park.
Another one I really miss is the Imagination ride at Epcot with Figment, which was a sightseeing ride through the world of books. Times sure have changed.

The teacups were my older sisters' favorite method of terrorizing me. They would get it spinning as fast as it could go to see how long it would take me to throw up or start crying. Haven't been on them since!

Figment is gone?! I loved Figment! I still have a two-foot tall stuffed Figment that I got at Epcot. It sits in my office.

And don't get me started about Mr. Toad's wild ride. Another of my favorites, even if I did need traction after riding it.

Disneyland is a huge drag! You wait in line 2 hrs for a 3 min ride. They're such a ripoff!
There's no fun left in anything Disney.

We used to spin those things until we were ready to puke. Great fun. ..and did puke! There is nothing funnier than watching someone puke while spinning the cups, centrifugal force at work and all.
