NEW YORK: In monarchies, it is a case of "the king is dead, long live the king". In a republic, the rules are the same. Democrats are preparing to anoint John Kerry in place of Bill and Hillary Clinton, who have held sway over their party for so long.
"It's Kerry's show now," said John Catsimatidis, a prosperous New York power broker and early Kerry backer who has hosted numerous fundraising dinners for the Clintons in the past.
The power couple have vanished into the background. Bill Clinton has passed the days scribbling his memoirs. Hillary remains engaged in her work as senator.
If Kerry takes the White House, her hopes of a 2008 presidency will fade into the distance.

The so-called "power couple" have NOT vanished into the background! Ever since Inauguration Day, they've been popping up like zits on an adolescent's face!
I'm so tired of them!

Kerry will never be President. You can bank on Hil to make it so...

That's why Kerry is doomed. Yep, Kerry should avoid Dealey Plaza when he campaigns for the Texas Primary. Hillary may be visiting.

But if Hillary ran as vice president, and if something happened to Kerry after 12:00 EST January 20, 2007, Hillary could be president for up to ten years.

Love your NYS logo. Mine would read NY-the Welfare State.
Never mind 2008, it's 2004 that I worry about. I'm not giving up my anti Hitlery signs until after the Rats convention and even then, there's no guarantee that lightning won't strike the candidate leaving Hitlery as the only viable candidate available.

If Kerry loses in a close election, he may get nominated again...just ask Al Gore. If he loses big, it works wonderfully for Hilary.

"The power couple have vanished into the background. " They're raising money and passing it to their friends- same as always.
They will be fully supportive of whoever the nominee is, and will work hard for his election.
If Kerry loses she'll be all set for 2008. If he wins she'll still get a big payoff for her support.
