I thought they knew this. It says it's purified water on the label.

You can learn to do the Heimlich maneuver on yourself--the sooner the better! Bend over a chair back, and grab the sides or the seat, whatever you can reach, and give a sharp, hard pull so that top of the seat back pushes against the bottom edge of your ribs. If you can't talk, you are choking.

Seriously, that's scary...

Talk? I couldn't breathe! Nothing happened when I inhaled, it was a total blockage, not even a tiny wheeze.

felt like forever, probably lasted a minute.

Thank you, Dear Lord, for the life of FR poster GeronL. We are so grateful you spared this person to be with us here tonight. Amen.

GeronL, you were within less than a minute of being unconscious, and within three minutes of brain damage or death. Seriously, that is scary. I mean every word of that prayer above.

I remember several years ago on Dave Letterman's show, he had a skit about consumer product names.

He held up an advertisement for bottled water called "100% Pure Profit."

Hilarious, and true.

Dasani is closer to the taste of my well water.

That isn't saying much about your well water, IMHO. ;)
Aquafina tastes much better to me. [But then again, Aquafina is a Pepsico product, I have a share or two in Pepsico] ;)

Aquafina is good, too, we just don't have Pepsi products in our machines. There's an Ozark spring water that isn't half bad, but I admit, I'm partial to our water over all of them. I'm sure you would be too, if only you had a chance to taste it, poor thing. ;-D

"Here in Fla they keep raising the acceptable contamination level because the sewage systems are falling apart"

Yep, falling apart. Of course, that is not as bad as when they cross connect the sewage and the supply lines and feed raw sewage into the tap system.

This is such a big problem there are EPA publications addressing the issue.

You better check with your local Arrowhead supplier then; they take Owens Valley diverted L.A. water, filter it and add the same basic salts as Dasani has.

Had a big lawsuit years back about it and nothing came of it.

True bagels are first boiled and then baked; that's what gives them their chewy texture.

"comes out of a faucet in the south of London."

FYI, The tap water in London is filtered through several kidneys.

You probably ended up with a rather large, quite dead and decomposing animal carcass in it.

You can perform the Heimlich Manuever on yourself by leaning over the back of a chair and thrusting it up under your ribs (be careful, though).

And fluoride. That's why on the one hand we have better teeth than the Brits, but on the other, a large percentage of our population has been turned into brain addled Democrat-voting zombies.

Do you realize that fluoridation is the most monstrously conceived and dangerous Communist plot we have ever had to face?
