Great article! And it's very accurate in noting that sexually libertine nations become bloated welfare states.

He has constructed a logical discourse on the corruption of homosexuality, but few will change their thinking as a result.

But isnt homosexuality harmless?Sure! It is just coincidence that homosexuals commit suicide at a far greater rate than heterosexuals. It is just coincidence that homosexuals are much more likely to use illegal drugs and overdose than heterosexuals. It is also just a coincidence that they get AIDS, STD's, hepatitis, and many other diseases at many times the rate of heterosexuals. And it is just coincidence that they tend to have much shorter life spans than heterosexuals.

"Californians are being asked to approve of homosexuality, not tolerate it."
We all are...and this is one of the keys to this issue. We have gone way beyond being asked to tolerate homosexuality: We are now being asked to accept it. This is an effort at validation, so they not only feel better about themselves, but so they can also silence anyone who may disagree with them.

The love that used to dare not speak its name will now force all of us to talk about it ceaselessly and with politically enforced care. Soon all California will be shaped after the pattern of San Francisco. The left will prosper and the right decline. Libertarians obsessed with simplistic slogans and thinking will approve at first from their fringe, but look in terror as the nanny state grows as it always does. They will not have meant to do so, but the libertarians will have delivered California to the libertines. All so that a small, wealthy, but influential segment of the California public can still for a moment their own consciences and defy nature and natures God. Well done!

Soon religious colleges will lose the right to student money for their students Once the money is correctly identified (as the taxpayers' money), it becomes evident that they never had any such "right" -- and indeed ought to adamantly reject any assertion of such a supposed "right" as a blatant violation of one of the Ten Commandments.

Since this is the Philosophy section, I have philosophical questions. The ontology underlying this post seems to be one of Two Worlds. The epistemology is a combination of faith and appeal to reason. The ethics is altruistic: Do the right thing for the sake of society. The politics is not republican, but statist: The state should regulate social behavior for the good of Society, rather than concentrate exclusively on protecting individual rights from aggression and fraud. I question the article's conclusions, because I reject the underlying philosophy.

It is amazing how some people who claim to love our Republic have nothing but disdain for the moral traditions that not only allowed it to come into existence but to continue to exist until now. And the fools expect us to stand idly by while they destroy it all.

Wonderful, thoughtful arguments.
Well-stated and classy.
"There is no societal good to be gained from approving actions that have no future."
"Unlike race or ethnicity, homosexuality is defined by a behavior or desire for a behavior. "
Like someone said on a recent thread (I'm so sorry not to rember who):
"Homosexuality is not a life style. It's a death style."

I have to admit that after reading this article I, for the first time, wondered: Other than moral implications, what really changes if gays are permitted to marry?

And do not be deceived. The demands will not end there. Soon religious colleges will lose the right to student money for their students, if they do not approve of homosexuality. Canada demonstrates that even in the pulpit, traditional religious teachings will not be safe. Anti- homosexual rights will not long be tolerated, but will soon be officially proclaimed as evil in public school textbooks. The sad case of the Anglican Church shows the steps clearly.LI think it's worse that that. The rebellion that manifests itself as homosexuality will seek other forms once homosexuality is normalized. Prostitution, beastiality, Pedophilia, Polygamy will follow. Eventually, even the German sicko who ate the person he met from the internet will be celebrated and his activity will be normalized.

The suppression by government force of dissenting opinions on homosexual behavior. Just my opinion.
