Veterans Say Kerry Broke Faith

Now that Massachusetts Senator John Kerry is claiming the Veteran vote based on his war record, many Vietnam Vets like myself will object. Both sides of the story need to heard.

I don't deny that fighting in an unpopular war over 30 years ago, and having been decorated, is laudable, and I salute Sen. Kerry for his service. However, it doesn't give him, or anyone else, a pass. One needs to examine the entire record, on its own merit. The mainstream press makes a mistake if they attempt to divide us into decorated veterans like Sen. Kerry, and then all the rest.

How ludicrous is it that President Bush is being criticized for "using" the defining issue of his presidency - the terrorist attacks - in his reelection campaign.

Meanwhile, Kerry uses his "decorated" service as a supposed Vietnam hero every day, and he's the SAME GUY who broke faith with the soldiers and testified they were ALL war criminals! Kerry is 1,000 times more the hyppocrite trading on others' sacrifice.

You don't see anyone spitting on 9-11 survivors or our Iraq troops and calling them "baby killers" based on President Bush's statements, do you?

About the only faith I can discern in Kerry is a French-level arrogance and
reliance on the bank accounts of his first and second spouses.

Kerry is an admitted murderer and war criminal. So much for his so-called "service".

Just some vet writing in a local paper; no need for Katie Couric or Dan Rather to pay any attention. It can be ignored away.

But between now and November it will happen in local papers all over the country.

Most of us who fought the war hated it. Not many sane and rational people will admit to loving war. We did, however, do our duty as soldiers. But few of us, if any, would conduct ourselves in a manner that would provide aid and comfort to an enemy that was still killing our brothers in arms, like Sen. Kerry did.

However, now that it suits his ambition to be President, Sen. "Hanoi John" Kerry constantly reminds voters of his war record. But to me, and to many other Vietnam Vets I'm sure, this chest beating of his has a phony, opportunistic, hypocritical ring to it. Many Vietnam Vets, like me, have taken notice, and we will oppose Sen. Kerry's election to any office.

Count me as one of those "Many Vets".

Let us move on to one other aspect of John Kerry's battleground experience. Either he was a most fortunate human being to have come out with so few scars and with the admiration of his fellow servicemen, or he has invented some prevarications that border on the pathological.

We do not have his medical records for the period, so the wounds, or lack of them, lie somewhere in the area of conjecture. Likewise whatever treatment (if any) he got for what is surely Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome. Much of Kerry's current behavior seems to reflect a state of deep depression, which may be under some sort of treatment by medication. Now ask yourself, people, is this the man we want with a finger on the button to launch a nuclear holocaust? One who has difficulty in determining his political position on even trivial matters? If in fact, he does not veto every weapons system bill that passes muster in Congress and is sent to his desk as President. If we are left too unprepared to send an unmistakeable message when threatened again some time in the future (and it WILL HAPPEN, have no doubt), and the only systems we have available allows no nuanced response, a total and wasteful exchange of hostilities will only render hundreds of thousands, if not millions, dead in its wake and assure a setback to civilization that may take a millennium for the world to recover. And all this because of one man's depression that he will not admit?

This man is a danger to the future, the safety, and the continuing freedom of the Republic, and has not conclusively demonstrated that he has any positive plan, should he be elected to the Presidency. And even if he does have some vision, would he carry it out? We perhaps should be thankful that he would be so indecisive, that events would force him to do something, but would that necessarily be for the greater good of the nation? He would make Jimmy Carter appear to be bold and forceful, and may even cause the "Former Occupant of the Oval Office, 1993-2001", to look honorable and trustworthy.

What kerry did to McCain is unforgivable. McCain may be able, after decades of painfull reflection, to forgive but *I* certainly am not.

kerry has proven, over and over again, that he must never be a CIC.

But Charlie Rangel went on Hannity and said our soldiers "were killing women and children".

Of course, after the firestorm of protest over his statement, he backed down.

John Kerry, by his own testimony, either committed war crimes or failed to report acts of which he was aware. Now he seeks to be Commander in Chief.

He MUST be asked: How does this testimony of yours not disqualify you? Why should you not be tried and imprisoned? How in good conscience did you accept an honorable discharge, testify to your own attrocities, and yet retain the arrogance to wrap yourself in your military service and challenge the patriotism of anyone, when you, when called upon, decided to disgrace the uniform and your country?

Kerry either committed the crimes he claims, or he lied then, or he lies now, or perhaps all. I susoect he committed no war crimes. He suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Returning POWS described the use of Kerry's testimony to demoralize them while captive. Does anyone know the meaning of "Aid and Comfort"?
