[history]
President Bush talks about his record, and Democrats demand that he shut up.
September 11, 2001, marked the worst foreign attack on American soil since Pearl Harbor--the bloodiest ever on the American mainland. It's certainly been the defining event of George W. Bush's Presidency. But according to Democrats and their media echo chamber, it now shouldn't be a campaign issue.

Kerry can regale us with his "heroics" in Vietnam of 30 years ago; yet it is improper for Bush to remind us of the deadliest attack on American soil and his response to it.
Left wing logic at work.

As for Democrats, they'd be wise to get over the idea that Mr. Kerry's Vietnam biography will cover them on the defense issue. Not very likely. This is Democrat freakin' Gospel in 2004. Prepare for absolute freak-out in the press when this is challenged.
On the positive side. It's true. And the press can't make it untrue.

The events of 9/11 affected all Americans not just those who lost family members in the attacks. The media again is showing its true colors in sigthing only the complainer and not those who have no objection to the ads. For the family members I think they do a dishonor to their loved ones . President Bush held this country together in the days after 9/11. He has led the country in the War on Terror and has brought the terror network that planned the attacks down. The family members have other things on their agendas and the truth is not one of them. BUSH 2004

I sure do wanna hear. We've chased the terrorists from Saudi Arabia who prosecuted 9-11 in all the wrong countries thus far.

The whiners don't have the exclusive license on the pain of September 11, 2001. What happened in NY, Washington and PA happened to America.
BTW, the WTC site doesn't belong to the the complainers either. If they want to determine what is built on that site, they can buy it.

You are both too cynical. We all know that Democrats win the dumb vote hands down. Yet the GOP controls the House, Senate, and Presidency.
The American people have shown time and time again we are far more mature and intelligent than we are given credit for.

Where, for example, was the tut-tutting about the former President "exploiting" the Oklahoma City bombing by giving an election-year speech there in April 1996?I hope some smart reporter digs up examples of bill clinton using the OKC bombing during his last campaign!
To: Texasforever
It's interesting to note that when Pearl Harbor was attacked the memory didn't fade. Today The World Trade Center attack is not even newsworthy according to some.

Good article. What's perplexing to me lately is how it has been percieved that limitations on freedom of expression (see shock-jocks, firings, Clear Channel, Janet Jackson's boob, for example) are being interpreted as the result of something coming from the Bush White House.
I try to explain to liberals that individual liberties are of high importance to conservatives (see 2nd ammendment, SUV's, low tax rates, etc) whereas liberals place more weight on the collective's liberties (gun control, EPA, education, higher taxes, etc.)
More than a handful of young people are just experiencing what the Patriot Act has in store for them and they don't like it. Warrantless searches of their cars when stopped at a supposed DUI checkpoint, for instance. "Your Papers, Please"- driver's license, registration, and proof of insurance. These fishing expeditions don't fool anyone, especially the younger ones.
These types of things going on around the state are going to cost Bush a lot of votes come November. What fries me, is trying to explain how much worse things would be if a liberal were in charge. I'm at that point of giving up. Haven't yet, but we individuals on the homefront could use some help from DC.

I realize the facts of this case have you trapped in a position you cannot reasonably support. Now hear this, on the day that war is declared upon the country of origin of the 9-11 terrorists, on that day, I will believe.

with all due respect for the survivors' loss ... their family members were not attacked on 9/11 .. the U.S.A. was. The victims of that day were irrelevant to those who plotted and executed the attack. The President of the United States at the time, who guided the nation through those insufferable days, was George Bush. He told us he would not tire, nor falter, nor fail. He hasn't. His term has been about protecting this country from another attack. So far, thank God, he's been successful.

bb you nailed this whole despicable Rat response to the reality of 9/11: "It's interesting to note that when Pearl Harbor was attacked the memory didn't fade. Today The World Trade Center attack is not even newsworthy according to some."
F'Kerry and his Lunatic Rats want us to forget this ever happened:

9/11 will not be forgotten anymore than the first shots of our Revolutionary War, the Alamo or Pearl Harbor.

But no one wants to see that. I haven't heard George bush say anything about that sniveling idiot Howard Stern but Stern directs his diatribes against Bush.
And let's take this a step further. Stern only belives in the rule of law and The Constitution where his concerns are met. He claims to belive in the first amendment but ignores the second amendment which for practical purposes protects the first. I guess it's a matter of whose ox is gored.
Off my soap box.

I will say this one last thing, if we had attacked Saudi Arabia instead of Afghanistan Al Quaeda would still be at full operational strength and we would be celebrating 911 version 2 about now.

Now you're an expert on terrorism? TF, terrorism needs money. And where is the most money? And from where did fifteen of 9-11 terrorists come from? I'll rule out a couple. Not Iraq. Not Afghanistan.
Now that you are uptospeed, they come from the house of saud...which gave birth to OBL.
