I remember hearing that there would be hundreds of thousands of telemarketing jobs lost when the "do not call" list was made law. I have not heard any comments about this when recent employment figures have been published.

Good point. There is a small local call center near me that looks to still be open, but I haven't seen their 'want ad' in the paper since then.
