PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti - Three thousand supporters of ousted President Jean-Bertrand Aristide marched on the U.S. and French embassies yesterday, shouting their anger at his removal. A seven-member council met for the first time to help form a transitional government. The protesters, a few with pistols tucked into belts, charged past embassies and the presidential National Palace, chanting "Long live Aristide!" and "Down with George Bush!"

I get the feeling that it would have been better, over the long term, to have simply not interferred and let the rebels enter tha capital, kill Aristide, and massacre his supporters
