The law appears to be a good one, but Daley likes to be able to withdraw police protection from businesses who don't contribute or hire a few people who don't show up. He also likes to be able to give concealed carry licenses to people who contribute to his campaign, or hire people who don't show up.

Construction projects also get or don't get approved, get or don't get permits, get or don't get traffic tickets, based on their money contributions, or the machine people who get paid, but don't show up.

A fellow named Al Capone pushed for laws to disarm citizens, particularly to get rid of the sawed off shotgun, aka "Ithaca Defender". Greasy Balls Capone was losing too many soldiers and tax collectors when they went around selling "fire insurance". It was well known that anyone with the skill and coordination of Mr. Magoo could do execution, and the "soldiers" and "tax collectors" knew it.

Richard "Big Bad" Daley

  1. Is like George Ryan.  George Ryan would have liked to put gun owners in jail, but appears to be headed for jail himself.
  2. Is a crook.  Richard Daley could end up in jail himself for his involvement in the trucking payola scandal where millions of dollars went to his cronies.
  3. Would like to confiscate every privately owned firearms in Illinois.  Why hasn't this happened?  Because gun owners have put enough pressure on lawmakers to block Daley.  What would happen if gun owners started playing offense instead of defense?
  4. Is human.  All humans die.  Is Richard Daley guaranteed another 10 years on this planet?  Another 3 years on this planet?  Another month on this planet?

The reality is this:  a right-to-carry law is not on the books in Illinois because to date, lovers of freedom:

  1. Have not effectively organized in Illinois.  Instead we have ISRA which has a history of being satisfied with playing defense against the gun grabbers.  We have CCRA which does its best, but is a small regional organization based in Champaign County.  We have ConcealCarry.org which points out the flaws of ISRA.
  2. Have not sufficiently pressured their elected representatives into getting a law on the books.

We will have a right-to-carry law on the books when freedom lovers unite and work together to get a law on the books
