Bush, Fox, promote plan to ease immigration laws

Crawford, Texas - President Bush and Mexican President Vicente Fox joined forces Saturday to promote Bush's plan for easing immigration laws, as Bush acknowledged that the proposal faces a tough time in Congress.

Standing side-by-side in bright sunshine at Bush's Texas ranch, the two leaders said Bush's plan for a new temporary worker program would help both countries by eliminating the underground market for Mexican workers. The proposal would let an estimated 8 million workers who are in the United States illegally gain legal status as guest workers.

"The people who come to this country make a significant contribution to the American economy," Fox told reporters.

Bush's plan, announced in January, has raised expectations in Mexico and among illegal workers in this country, but it has little chance of passing Congress this year. Republican critics say the proposal would reward illegal immigrants; Democrats complain that it does not do enough to help foreign workers become U.S. citizens.

We have a full moon and mild weather here on the southern border tonight. The ranks of the potential "guest workers" will swell by several thousands by morning.

He's right, you know.

The people who come here legally bring a new dimension to American life.

The people who come here illegally contribute to marginalizing our workers, upping our crime rate, and undermining our laws.

Here, Jackalope. Practice these words: "Se Habla Espanol Aqui." Work on that every night. You'll get along with the help better. :) Here's another one. "Donde esta oficina de la immigracion?"

I absolutely refuse to be part of this lunacy. This is just in our faces. They could care less what the American people want.

Bush really does appear to be trying to throw this election!

It is past time to make illegal entry a felony on the first offense, THAT must be the first condition of ANY new plan to deal with the invaders/guest workers.

.....Then we'll just legislate an hefty increase in the minimum wage and everyone will be happy!

What are Rove and the President smoking? Did they think they can get away with this after coming out with a plan for a Constitutional Amendment protecting traditional marriage? "Yep, we shored up the base with that one, now we can dissolve the border completely and nobody will care!" Sheesh, I know a lot of fence sitters who hate illegal immigration, yet couldn't care less about marriage between gays. I think they are blowing - big time.

"The people who come to this country make a significant contribution to the American economy," Fox told reporters.

They employ thousands of State Department bureaucrats, LEOs, prison guards, attorneys, school teachers, college professors, sociologists, truant officers, welfare workers, crisis intervention teams, paramedics, professional race hustlers, physicians, nurses... They also perform the critical serivce of helping keep Slave Party politicians in office. Besides, they mow lawns and bus dishes that used to fund tuition that American kids have to pay to help fund a free ride for illegals.

Such a deal.

"I think they are blowing - big time."They are blowing it so badly that they are going to take a lot of Republicans with them. We are in for another 94, only this time it's the GOP that will get swept away. With Bush at the top of the ticket the GOP doesn't stand a chance. I wish there was choice other then traitors (D) and fools (R).

Yeah, come election night I think Bush is finally going to hear what the little people have been saying.

He keeps comming back to his pet immigration invasion free for all so I've had enough, regardless of who is running and if Kerry wins I will not vote for Bush. And I'm reminded every day of my reasons for sitting this out as I am surrounded by spanish speaking people sucking the life, jobs, social services, hospitals and health depts in my town. Our roads and schools are overloaded and I'm sick to death of Americans being the only people expected to obey the laws of the land.

Screw Bush and his brown nose.

It is the age old question of mind over matter -- they don't mind, and we don't matter.

What Bush is doing with Fox makes a complete mockery of our borders and our citizenship. I expect this kind of garbage from Democrats, but I am OUTRAGED to see it coming from Republicans.
