One talking head earlier this evening stated the current 5.6% unemployment figure is lower than the average unemployment for the full eight years of Clinton's term in office. Now that's a factoid that seldom gets airtime.

Wonder what the individual state unemployemt rates are? Tenn is 4.9% right now. BELOW the national average. Yes there are pockets like rural areas that have very little industry. My town of 9,000 (20 miles from Memphis) has 3 new buildings going up, Walgreens and Lowes, don't know what the other is....they added two other new ones last year a Lenny's sub and a Paint/flooring store..all new buildings in a town that hasn't seen a new one since the Super Wal-Mart went in a few years ago. Also the two largest Baptist churches are building NEW churches to house their growing congregrations.
