Um, no. That is not a news magazine. That is a right wing opinion website and I don't see the image in question on that page.

I think we have wasted entirely too much time playing with our food.(you)

The Kitty's have you now.

Erm... that's like saying that it's still ok for a Christian to kill a heretic or jew, because they're damned to hell to begin with. Their extremists see things in black and white, but we don't exactly come from a religious background that lets us accuse another of being inherently violent, because ours is the only major one left that often says to go out an conquer. Oh, it says other more pleasant things, but so does the quoran, so who's counting?

As for your tagline... they only seemed to show interest in us when we got all in their affairs. We alienated Iran, alienated Palestine, and generally started taking sides and playing power games. Big deal, all the western powers did, it comes with the territory. They resent us the way every weaker country resents a foreign power muscling in on them. If we just left them alone, they would leave us alone. Problem is, if we just left them alone, everyone would accuse us of being selfish (oh joy), and we could easily end up with a much bigger threat down the line.

I'll agree with at least that one statement HM made... the world is not black and white, it's just easier for people to see it that way. Every single foreign issue we're dealing with right now is the direct result of past actions of ours. We can't just crush all opposition, because that usually causes more problems than it solves if not applied well (and it's usually not)... and we can't hand everybody the olive branch, because the world does not work that way except in a hippie fantasy.

If everything's black and white, then tell me why we're in Iraq in a simple plain non-jingoist answer. I know why I supported it and still do, and it has nothing to do with WMD's, a perceived threat, or any other excuse that was made... but you don't sound like you have a clear reason yourself.

I wonder how many of you brave people would PUBLICLY denounce someone's opinion without being able to hide behind your anonymity. Probably very, very few.

I have in the past, and will do so in the future.

Oh, I can assure you of something else. There was no anonimity when I called...and yes, I made sure that he knew my name and that I was at least in part responsible for what he was going to get.

No anonymity for me either. A warrant officer called me back to make sure he had the info correct.

Sorry, I don't. He caught me here. Had he left a message I would have had it written down.

No problem. If it's who I think it was he's a Warrent Pers (admin type) who was gathering the particulars. I can't recall his name either.

A Warrant Bosun friend of mine did speak to the little POS directly and passed on my regards by name. The slimy little SOB wasn't well like around base.

oh, joy: yet another round of the moral-equivalency tango.

Christianity and Islam are not significantly different in their holy texts, eh?

OK, try this on for size:
You tried to equate Christianity with Islam. This is why I ask you to find even one passage, relating to religion and treatment of others, which fulfills the following requirements:

1. in the "catholic" post-Nicaea Christian testament (but I'll gladly throw it open to the Jewish book)
2. a literal...
3. plain-text...
4. indisputable...
5. ongoing present-tense (as opposed to a one-shot past-tense record of history/folklore - ie: Joshua)...
6. commandment from God (not a pope or a bishop or some >a-hem!< televangelist)...
7. as a directive to the believer to take literally and actively in the temporal realm
8. to do any or all of the following:
-a. to slay the heretic and non-believer,
-b. to forcibly convert the heretic and non-believer,
-c. to enslave the heretic and non-believer,
-d. to persecute the heretic and non-believer,
-e. to wage holy war upon the heretic and non-believer
9. Directly analogous to the dozens thereof in the Koran.

(so you know, things like II Thessalonians 1:8,9 don't count - that is God kicking ass, not his faithful doing so for him. An important distinction equivocators seem to like to sweep under the rug.)

Now, turnabout:
Find JUST ONE passage in either the Koran or the Sunnah which is the direct analogue of the Parable of the Samaritan, or the directive to the witness to leave an unbeliever in peace - to "knock the dust of his home from their soles as they leave" - rather than butcher him in zealous fury, or to the believer contained in I Cor 7:12-17, or I Cor 10:32, or II Cor 6:14-18, or Ephesians 6:10-12, or... do you get the point?
Find JUST ONE comparable passage in the Koran or the Sunnah.
Good luck - I have been looking for over a year and have not found any such analogues.

As to my tagline - you are incorrect. It is only recently that they have enough wealth to acquire sufficient numbers and weapons and mobility to be able to significantly annoy us. They have been trying to do so since the inception of this odious creed.

Which brings us to the one-line statement of my support for the current military action in the Middle East:
"This is the latest round of World War Zero, and I am all for taking the battle to the aggressors' home turf and at long last defeating them permanently."
It's an oversimplification of my stance, and of the issues, but it serves as the skeleton for both.

The connection between nick berg and this site is sketchy, but I wouldn't be suprised if some psycho on this site used the list to bomb an abortion clinic or something of the sort. Tsk tsk.

did you just catch a megajoule of static discharge in a safe and certain spot of your anatomy?

He will, of course, fail to bring himself to admit that it was he who helped kill his own son. By working to embolden the terrorists; by his own treasonous actions; by his signing his name to a traitors list and causing attention to be drawn to his son as he was investigated in Iraq.

Mike Berg didn't actually saw his own son's head off....he empowered the terrorists to do so.

May Poppa Berg rot in Hell.

Domestic political opposition consists of reasoned and principled differences of opinion.

The modern hijacked Demoncrat Party is led by the radical scum of the '60's and '70's. The professors of universities today are the ROTC bombers of yesteryear. The best the Demoncrat Party can offer as national candidates for president are either active draft dodgers or turncoats who condemned their former comrades-in-arms and admitted war criminals. The national "opposition" is, indeed, the focal point of anti-US rhetoric and hateful invective towards all who disagree with them. By their own deeds they have exposed their traitorous faces.

I will respectfully disagree and say that he is still entitled to grieve even though he is dishonoring his son's memory with his political agenda.

He is absolutely giving aid and comfort to the enemy while we are at war. Those airheads on the left seem to believe that if we are just nice to them they won't want to kill us anymore. It goes beyond being hopelessly naive. Their foolishness is dangerous.

The hippies of the 60s now find themselves to be IRRELEVANT!

How could we know that when the scales tipped the opposite direction we would be marginalized! Thank you Thank you President Bush for giving us something that we can pretend is Something Important!
