"has Pontius Pilate's wife tell her husband, as the assassination of Jesus is plotted on Palm Sunday: "Fix it so the Jews themselves are held responsible."

Does anyone know if that was scriptural? Did Claudia actually say that?

AS far as "the big lie" goes it seems that it's being perpetrated by the author of this column and his lack of knowledge.

Speaking strictly as a historian: the only primary sources that we have on the execution of Jesus Christ are the Gospels. I find it a bit surreal that a writer would try to present himself as rational, and at the same time favour a radical rewrite of the story, with modern PC undertones, so it won't hurt the feelings he seems to think with, over the only known primary sources, despite the deficiencies of oral tradition as history.

Apparently the Big Lie he is referring to is Christianity. Let me get this straight, a dramatization based on the one source is evil, but one that makes the bad guy into a good guy and has Pilate's wife wearing the pants in that family is good?

Maybe his email was deleted because he has gone to inpatient treatment somewhere...

"You can always find a few bigots and idiots who'll believe anything."

Shales becomes the proof of his own assertion.

According to the internet movie data base it's up to $214,000,000. Like Jesus said, "If they hate you, they hated me first". I think it's great that Mel put that in the movie. Obviously he knew he'd catch some flak.

"What would this smarmy, humanist, mush-headed liberal know about a "parking space in Hell"?"

In a few decades, plenty.

He looks like the product of a successful ''marriage'' between Roger Ebert and Elton John.

What else is in his crack pipe besides crack?

From reading this, the Judas movie is an abomination. So many of these people expect a touchy-feely-kiss-and-hold-hands Christianity. No sin. No Guilt. Just good self-esteem.

Everyone who subscribes or buys the Washington Post helps pay this bigot. It is amazing to hear the nasty, Jesus-hating liberal devils breathing out their sulphurous fumes in column after column of newsprint. Thank you, Mel Gibson, for your magnificent film which is separating the sheep from the goats in our society.

Divide and conquer is the liberals stock and trade. This post has some interesting views on who killed Jesus. Apparently some Talmudic scholars don't believe the Romans had any part at all.

Tom Shales, listed in the exceprt here as a Style columnist, is the TV critic for the Compost. Smarmy bugger isn't he? Like other critcs of THE PASSION, he completely misses the point of the film (and the Gospels for that matter).
