Assuming there aren't complications, the recovery time for gall bladder surgery is about the same as for any type of 'routine' surgery of this nature .... approximately 6 weeks.

Daughter was 2 months pregnant when she had hers so she had to have the full surgery with the big incision. She spent a week in the hospital afterwards and still had drainage tubes when she went home.

On that note, pregnancy is a big trigger for many women where gallbladder stones are concerned. I had mine removed 9 months after my first child was born.
