...well, you do present some good points!

Thank you, they are based on thoughtful commentary about a terrible and confusing crime, an unsolved crime. One I have studied at length.

did your junior high class let you out early today?...

Jr high kids send obcenity laced private emails to other posters. Jr high kids don't use capital letters. Jr high kids call people who have lost a daughter in a brutal murder scum bags and claim they are guilty of one of the most heinous crimes imaginable based on their "feelings".

Perhaps a quick peek in the mirror might be helpful.

I concede your points but you have to agree that this case does NOT pass the 'smell' test...

Who would break into a house at night, kidnap a girl, then kill her, THEN stick around long enough to write a multi-page, rambling ransom note?

It was proven that the note was written on paper from a pad in the house and with a pen also from the house. It even resembles the mother's handwriting.

The murderer would have to go from girls room upstairs, to a practically hidden room in the basement... without waking anyone.

All I know is that if my kid was found dead of non-natural casues, one morning, in my house, and there was no evidence of a break-in or of a perp leaving, and no other realistic suspects, I'd be in prison right now.

I can certainly understand the emotion that follows the death of a trusting child. Though I do not hold any brief for an absolute condemnation of the parents, I am haunted in a way.

There are some excellent and incredibly detailed web sites (or were) with much documentation and copies of afidavits. Again and again, I checked side by side, the handwriting of the Ramseys with that letter left in the house. I thought of the trial of Bruno Richard Hauptman and the Lindberg baby. The experts had HIM electrocuted on the handwriting of the extortion letter. I wonder why,no, agonise over the incredible opportunity the investigators had.

The heading stating to John Ramsey on that letter (extortion) and the business note by John, headed by him- John Ramsey, well!

Problem for me is that I had put it(Death) out of my mind, now back again. I try to be kindly and do say this- The Ramseys, if innocent, maybe knew more. Also thoughts go out to the unfortunate female police officer called and left alone- how hatefully she has been treated. Just a few thoughts, as we and our Michigan neighbours bask in the wonderful sunshine and thaw.

And just who would be his constituency?

What a whacked family.

I concede your points but you have to agree that this case does NOT pass the 'smell' test...

Cases like this always stink. It is very problematical. And it didn't get better by having the keystone cops on the case.

Who would break into a house at night, kidnap a girl, then kill her, THEN stick around long enough to write a multi-page, rambling ransom note?

The order in which this version of the events occurred, if they occurred, is conjecture.

It was proven that the note was written on paper from a pad in the house and with a pen also from the house.

Proving that whoever wrote the note used materials from the crime scene. They also used other objects from the crime scene. It isn't unusual BTW. In fact, it's fairly common.

It even resembles the mother's handwriting.

Different handwriting experts have come to differing conclusions on that.

The murderer would have to go from girls room upstairs, to a practically hidden room in the basement... without waking anyone.

Humongous house, people sleeping on different floors, stun gun. That one is the easiest. You do know about the stun gun don't you?

If one wants to conjecture about things, there are lots of good questions, most aren't asked.

An almost exact scenario like that happened in a Chicago burb near my house and the people are not in prison.

Not to mention much of what you attribute to THIS case is incorrect. In fact, these things specifically;
"and there was no evidence of a break-in or of a perp leaving, and no other realistic suspects,"

Good points, Mr. K.

Also, the Ramsey duo showed consciousness of guilt, an important factor in circumstantial cases, by many of their actions after the murder of JonBenet.

1. They called numerous friends to come over to the house the morning after the murder, and allowed them to confuse and contaminate the crime scene.

2. They lawyered up almost immediately, and refused to cooperate with the police.

3. They used their lawyers to avoid a police interview until months after the crime.

4. They went on CNN right after their daughter's burial and spoke about "getting on with their lives".

5. They have neglected the child's grave.

6. The inscription on her gravestone includes the word "Purity". How odd. One would assume a 6 year old was pure.

7. There were indications at autopsy that the child had been molested prior to the night of her rape-murder.

8. John Ramsey called his pilot to fly him out of town even before funeral arrangements had been made.

9. Patsy Ramsey immediately after the crime, while staying at a friend's house, chanted over and over: "I'm sorry--I'm sorry".

10. Patsy Ramsey threw herself on the child's corpse as it lay under the Christmas tree to make sure her fibers were all over the body, with good excuse.

11. John Ramsey "found" the body hours after he had supposedly searched the entire house. He held the baby out in front of him "like an ironing board", said one cop.

12. Patsy Ramsey peeked through her fingers at police as they began the investigation of the crime scene, to see their reaction to her hysterics.

13. The Ramseys said their son Burke was asleep that morning when they discovered the ransom note. They later admitted to the National Enquirer that Burke was awake.

14. The 2 and 1/2 page ransom note used expressions that were favorites of Patsy Ramsey, like "Southern common sense" and "fat cats".

15. The note's handwriting resembled Patsy's closely, and used many exclamation points, as was her habit.

16. The note mentioned John Ramsey's bonus, $118,000, which was known to Patsy.

17. The note was written with Patsy's favorite Sharpie pen on her own notepad.

18. The child was molested with Patsy's paintbrush.

19. The Ramseys have repeatedly contradicted themselves in TV interviews and in their own book on the murder, "Death of Innocence".

20. The child's body was wrapped in her favorite blanket, with her favorite nightgown alongside, which indicates the killer knew and loved the child.

And much, much more...but I don't have time tonight.
