LANSING -- John Ramsey, father of slain child pageant star JonBenet, is seriously considering a run for the Michigan House of Representatives.
Ramsey has established residency in Charlevoix, where he has long vacationed, and has indicated he wants to succeed term-limited state Rep. Ken Bradstreet, R-Gaylord, said Matt Resch, spokesman for House Speaker Rick Johnson, R-LeRoy.
Ramsey is being urged to run by local Republican officials in Charlevoix, according to a report in Monday's edition of the newsletter Inside Michigan Politics.
Resch said Ramsey has not been recruited by the House Republican caucus.
Described as a wealthy businessman in the news reports that surrounded the death of his 6-year-old daughter in 1996, Ramsey is associated with a Charlevoix-based business that produces directories. He did not return phone calls Monday afternoon.
The mysterious slaying of JonBenet Ramsey dominated cable networks and the tabloids for several years, much of the coverage laden with insinuation about whether the Ramseys were implicated in her death. The case remains unsolved. John Ramsey and his wife, Patricia, moved to Atlanta in 1997.
The Ramseys filed a $12-million federal lawsuit last year in Atlanta against Fox News Network for an allegedly defamatory report about the case.
Charlevoix city officials said Monday that John Ramsey registered to vote there late last year and filed for a homestead property tax exemption last summer. Ramsey also obtained a Michigan driver's license in October. Patricia Ramsey also registered to vote in Charlevoix at about the same time.
John Ramsey has not yet filed paperwork to run for the House seat. The deadline is May 11.
The 105th District, which Bradstreet represents, covers all of Otsego, Antrim, and Charlevoix counties and most of Cheboygan County in northern Michigan.

They have always been conservative republicans.
Good to know you have all the evidence to convict them of the murder of their daughter, why haven't you turned it over to the police?

Ramsey is being urged to run by local Republican officials in Charlevoix, according to a report in Monday's edition of the newsletter Inside Michigan Politics I'd like to know what those local officials are smoking, and also hope that he doesn't run. I wouldn't vote for him no matter what, even if I agree with him on the issues. I don't trust him.
I hope someone from the Gaylord area jumps in and challenges him. I should ask my uncle to re-register up in Otsego where his cabin is at.

OJ is guilty and went through two trials. One was a jury of morons.
I have yet to see a trial or an arrest in the death of Jon Benet.

i never thought anyone on this forum would defend those scumbags! You don't get out much I guess.
I notice you didn't offer any proof, or even any idea that you have the slightest clue about the case. So what are your bonafides on this case?

...of course there isn't a trial or arrest in the Jon Benet death! her daddy had plenty of money to take care of that! and since we're dealing with the "law" in colorado, i have no faith that there ever will be any further developments in this case. at any rate, it's a tragic loss of a little 6 year old...

How can you find any evidence when you can't even find the shift key?

...when in any of my posts to this topic did i say i had evidence? like i said in my first post "i still believe that he and his wife BOTH killed their little girl". it's just a gut feeling. i will admit i didn't follow the case too closely, but since you seem to be so keen on convincing me they didn't kill her, perhaps you might enlighten me on why you feel this way? i do remember a few things like how a bunch of people were traipsing through the ramsey house before the cops were called out, there were no footprints in the several feet of snow surrounding the house, a garrot was made from one of patsy's paintbrushes, the ransom letter asked for a ransom in the exact amount of john ramsey's bonus (from work) which (the amount) no one but john ramsey and his secretary knew. i also didn't believe patsy's "tearful" performance on national tv. anyway, i'd like to know what makes y'all think the parents didn't do it? it sure sounds like you have all sorts of evidence that acquits them!...

like i said in my first post "i still believe that he and his wife BOTH killed their little girl". it's just a gut feeling. Your "gut" feelings do not convict. Your gut feelings cause you to label people as scumbags.
i will admit i didn't follow the case too closely,
Noooo,,,,,Ya don't say......
since you seem to be so keen on convincing me they didn't kill her,
Who did that?
i do remember a few things like how a bunch of people were traipsing through the ramsey house before the cops were called out,
Incorrect. That may influence your gut feelings.
there were no footprints in the several feet of snow surrounding the house,
So what? There was CLEARED, SNOW FREE walkways to several points of entry, including a broken window into the basement, which was left agape.
a garrot was made from one of patsy's paintbrushes,
What? A weapon made from easily obtained objects from the crime scene? OH NO! that proves guilt for the party who owns the object. Lie if someone killed you with your own screwdriver, YOU would be guilty of killing yourself? LOL
the ransom letter asked for a ransom in the exact amount of john ramsey's bonus (from work) which (the amount) no one but john ramsey and his secretary knew.
No proof of that is possible since it assumes something which cannot be proved.
i also didn't believe patsy's "tearful" performance on national tv.
That does it, you don't believe her, so she's guilty. Amazing.
it sure sounds like you have all sorts of evidence that acquits them!...
And now the coup d'grace,,,,,,It's the USA, you don't need to have all sorts of evidence that proves you innocent. The burden of proof is on the accuser. In this case, the state DECLINED to accuse them.
I have a gut feeling about you, but that for another venue.

why do you ask?... Which shows you have no pertinent information on the crime.

...well, you do present some good points! when did i convict them? all i said was i believe they killed her. i guess it's not acceptable for one to have his/her own feelings about something? and what's with your smart-ass attitude? did your junior high class let you out early today?...
