It could be she still hasn't healed sufficiently to endure her wedding night.

She's 20. She went through nine kinds of hell. The media has had their collective noses up her whatsis since she got back. She's having second thoughts - and I'll bet money it isn't just over the wedding.
Leave her alone.

I think the whirlwind has died down somewhat and the girl has had a chance to catch her breath and look around.
No matter what life hands us ... when we get home and have had a couple of meals and some sleep in our own bed ... the wheel stops spinning and our minds get clearer.
Personally ... I'm glad to hear this. All kinds of conspiritorial thoughts went through my head when I first heard the news about her engagement to this man that had been a caregiver to her.

Absolutely right..
She's only 20..
She could easily wait for another 5 years if necessary, and mature a bit before a life time committment..
Not that what she's been through doesn't give her a totally new perspective on life, but it's more traumatic and life altering than maturing..

My wife was barely 20 when we got married in 1985.

I wonder if she ever bothered to meet and thank the guy who risked his life to tell US forces of her whereabouts?
The last I heard she snubbed him because she was "too busy". That definitely lowered my opinion of her. Women have no business being in combat or a warzone anyhow.

And if it would have been a female who risked their life to save her? When the roles are reversed, where do you hide? When your wading in it, you don't give a damn who pulls you out of it!

After what he went through to save HER ass, she could have taken 15 minutes to meet to meet the guy and say thanks.
But her book was coming out AFTER his, so she didn't want to give him any PR.
She showed no class.

I wonder if she ever bothered to meet and thank the guy who risked his life to tell US forces of her whereabouts? You don't have to wonder -she hasn't. Her wedding plans were nothing more than cold calculating PR timed with the release of her book to promote the image of a humble country girl -you ever wonder why no one followed up on the stripping episode to find out how that night ended for her? I would have liked for her to donate some of the money she's made off her notoriety to the families of 1st SGT Dowdy, Buggs, and Aquiano. These men died as a result of her incompetence and substandard performance.
