bubonic plague
Treatable with most modern antibiotics - tetracycline, etc. Still "Winds of Black Death" is a nasty name. My only consoling thought - hit us harder or as hard as 9/11 and say goodbye to mecca and medina. Then go after anyone who won't renounce radical islam. Seriously. ;-(

Not a big deal if that's what they have in mind -- plague is still around today, but you don't hear much about it because it's trivial to treat with antibiotics.

Oh, sh1+.

Bubonic would actually be something of a nonstarter nowadays.

Maybe, maybe not. But if it is plague, the good news is that it should be easy to treat with antibiotics.
