I know and use all the nasty words while in the proper enviornment but it is nice to see a sport "TRY" and keep the vocabulary elevated. The NFL, NBA, MLB seem to care less.
Ugly describes the soul of a person in the south.
I cannot think of any region on the globe that is more misrepresented than the rural south is in the popular American outlets of media.
NASCAR needs to continue to dance with the one that brung them to the dance. If NASCAR becomes some yankiefied ratings whore, the south will abandon them.
Exactly! And when a driver has a confrontation on the track with another driver, and that driver is known for a racy mouth, the interviewers shouldn't be so fast to run over to that driver in the "heat of the moment." Hard to tell what is going to come out of that mouth! Let the situation cool before shoving that mike down their throat. Right?
It's like some can get away with it and others can't. How many "kids" watch the WWF? I've caught a lot of their action...........and when I see all the "kids" in the audience, I cringe. But,,,,,,,,,,,who am I!
The "Umph" has gone out of it, that's for sure.
I thought it was just me.......but even my family members say after a race of late "Boy, what a boring race!" So, I guess it's not just me.
I hate to say this, but with Nextel taking over, I fear that our beloved NASCAR will never be the same.
Too much PC. Know what I mean?
I know I have cut back on buying souvenirs. :(
It's almost completely hypocritical for the TV networks to stick a camera in the face of someone who's ticked off and then get whiny when they express their anger.
The only time I ever remember being disgusted with a driver's comments was when Kurt Busch, who I like, went into total-prick mode during a rain delay at Atlanta last year: I wanted the interviewer to deck him. He didn't swear, he just acted like a 2 year old. I have little use for Jeremy Mayfield because he swears for no reason. KB has been called on the carpet by his sponsor, as has Tony Stewart. I'd like to see Mt. Dew muzzle Jeremy.

Well, I have seen the newscrew RUN toward two drivers that are getting into it. Now, they can't have it both ways. They can't put it on TV and then scream about language and the fighting.
Look at Ice Hockey! This past week, we have a guy in the hospital with a broken neck from a confrontation on the ice. The PC crowd wants to control that, and I feel sorry for the guy in the hospital. But the one guy said 'that is why they watch hockey. For the fights.'
NASCAR is a man's world, and I'm happy about that! :)
And it's fun to see a few drivers really get into it from time-to-time. Keeps the sport HUMAN. And yes, the rivalry's have gone way back.

Kurt is a cry baby. Jeremy? Well.....what can you say. Tony is a spit fire, but he has toned down as well. Jeremy hasn't been interviewed much of late.
I just think the fire is being sucked out of NASCAR.
