Gadzooks! I'm almost afraid to sleep because I might miss something by Mark Steyn :-).

In tomorrow's news, the Islamists blow up something big in France and blame it on Charles Martel and Roncesvalles.

If you can spare a few hours away from FR, I would suggest visiting his website. http://www.steynonline.com

Yep... paint the burka... get the rear blown up (along with the rest)...

Why can't we all just get along???

Because the other side wants to get even for anything they can come up with. Could be a few hundred years ago, a million years ago, or a second ago (talk about holding a grudge)...

I find it so hard to believe that anyone on the face of the planet is seriously considering Kerry as a leader of our country... but unfortunately there are a bunch at this time that do...

Thanks for the ping and the post. Mark Steyn is great as always. Some mention of Saddam's tie to terrorism should be made.
Got some links of, I think, an important document:

Report Details Saddam's Support for Terrorists Who Killed Americans

The above link is the FreeRepublic discussion thread.

The actual article is :

"Saddam Hussein’s Philanthropy of Terror"

It is a pdf document with substantial footnotes and put together by Dewey Murdock of the Hudson Institute.

So the choice for pluralist democracies is simple: You can join Bush in taking the war to the terrorists, to their redoubts and sponsoring regimes. Or you can stick your head in the sand and paint a burqa on your butt. But they'll blow it up anyway.

Well said, Mark Steyn!

The conventional wisdom about the political consequences of Thursday’s terrorist attacks in Spain for today’s Spanish elections formed remarkably (indeed, suspiciously) quickly.

That's because absolutely no research or thought was done. When I was reading the coverage of supposedly ordinary Spaniards discussing why they would now vote against the administration and for the leftists, I was struck by how much the "reporting" resembled the continuous pronouncements about the implosion of some Bush policy or other.

That conventional wisdom reads more like journalists' wishful thinking. That doesn't mean it's wrong (though I expect it probably is), but no facts were considered in forming it.

The only happy ending to this is a bullit between Osama's running lights.

"We are not fighting so that you will offer us something. We are fighting to eliminate you." You can be pro-America (Spain, Australia) or anti-America (France, Canada), but if you broke into the head cave in the Hindu Kush and checked out the hit list you'd be on it either way.

Spot on! The citizens of Spain just voted in their death warrants IMHO. What a terrible mistake they have made siding with the socialists who side with the terrorists, just as our own do. Let us hope this country doesn't fall for the lies of the left as Spain has.

"The bombs dropped on Baghdad exploded in Madrid!"..."If this turns out to be Islamic extremists . . . it is more likely to be linked to the position that Spain and other allies took on issues such as Iraq."

These fools need to learn to keep their mouths shut! Some things should be thought, but NEVER said. Comments like these only encourage the enemy.

Commissioner Keelty is confusing old-school terrorism – blowing the legs off grannies as a means to an end – with the new: blowing the legs off grannies is the end.

One of my favorite lines in the article.

I'm pretty sure that Hamas' color is green, and the black and white khaffeyah is that of the Palestinians / the Palestinian Authority.

They might not get around to Johnny-come-lately grievances such as Iraq until the early 2600s.

Thank you, Steyn, for using humor while pointing out the truth. The unfunny side is that any job left undone will plague our posterity.
