It was VFR (no marginal) (ceiling and vis clear and 8 stat. mi.)according to the FAA.

I would be very interested in the source you have for this. There are several media reports on line that indicated it was otherwise.

The comment about "why would I shoot a Cat II with vis 8+ miles" is putting words in my mouth. I was disputing your assertion that because ground based city or airport lighting is lit up like a Christmas tree then all is well. That is a patently false assertion.

All the equipment in the world won't save an aircraft or pilot if you get disoriented.

Flight Safety is a good school. I believe JFK Jr did all he could become a proficient private pilot. But I have several dead friends who were the best of the best in T-38's with the best training in the world, and they are still dead.

JFK Jr.'s passing is both a tragedy and a quandary for sure. But it's that state of perplexity or doubt that gets compounded, when the Clintons figure into anything. Flying on instruments (I'm no pilot), has got to be difficult -- but figuring the Clintons is an equally disturbing and difficult conundrum. They're both dangerous, even to the experienced among us.

They just keep on getting slimmer, tanner, and richer. It's as if they have some sort of deal. One has to wonder about our system of government, or lack thereof, when a pair like that can hitch their trailer to the White House -- park there for eight years, trash it, and the people -- and talk about coming back. That system of laws, seems to have become a system of men. The Devil must be laughing himself sick.

Sky,

I remember seeing a compulation radar data flight path of JFK's Jr's flight in AOPA's magazine, if the tinfoil hat types ever get a chance to see it perhaps it would change there mind, perhaps not.

It also has been said that he dived the Saratoga via vertigo. It then hit me, that he got inverted and thought up was down and down was up and pulled back and inverted dived into the ground.

I look forward to your reply
