Really? Are you sure you're not thinking of a theme song, from the (relatively) recent movie, "The Fugitive"?

I missed the movie. I do remember the TV series, b/c my mother and older brother watched it every week. The opening of the show has the music, accompanied by a narration. The narration says something like, "and now he is forced to roam from town to town, never calling anyplace home, in search of a one-armed man he saw running from the scene..."

I think you're thinking of the narration!
