Would be interesting to read the citations for all the medals he was awarded in 3-4 months of time in RVN.

Others in his boat squadron report that "all" medal awards were written up by the person himself, then routed for initials by the CO.

So, Kerry wrote his own awards.

I heard his silver star was for killing an unarmed VC who was trying to escape after being hit with a round from a 50 cal machine gun. Real heroic.
