If the Red Cross didn't care, they wouldn't supply blood for operations involving these folks.

Perhaps the Red Cross could offer GLT (Gay Lesbian Transgendered) blood as a special item--like autologous (self-donated) blood, but, uh, different. It would be "special", and make these people feel special, too. My only suggestion would be that if you donated GLT blood, you'd have to take it when you needed a tranfusion.

There wouldn't be a lot of takers (or donors).
