An Open Letter To Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
California My Home ^ | March 11th, 2004 | John Longenecker, Jr.

The Honorable Arnold Schwarzenegger
Governor of California
State Capitol Building
Sacramento, CA 95814

Honorable Governor Schwarzenegger:

Congratulations on your success. I wish you, and us all, continued success in restoring California under your refreshing leadership. Welcome. Someday, I hope to meet you and shake your hand. I have appreciated your utter devotion over the years in your unrelenting adherence to your core beliefs, whether fitness, business or personal values.

Governor, where violent crime is devouring our assets and resources, not only in fiscal costs in choking our systems, but in costs to our image at home and abroad as much as to our very California community spirit, I propose a simple operation that can take control of the problem in a very short time, and with lasting, desirable results.

As you may know, Law Enforcement has no mandate or duty to protect individuals from criminal violence. Other states have found an effective solution by permitting constituents to carry weapons on their person. Not only does crime fall consistently, but the nature and degree of violence falls when the criminal does not know who is armed. Their systems are not inundated and costs are reduced.

My appeal to you is to please investigate with a view toward this two-tiered approach:

1. Please:  a) make California a Right To Carry state by your executive order, that is, by your hand recognizing that individuals are in fact the first line of defense in time of violent crime and permitting constituents to carry weapons because Police have no mandate to protect individuals, and; b) immediate reciprocity for Californians who lawfully hold concealed carry permits issued by other states, and who have shown themselves possessed of good judgment, and which programs have shown themselves to be desirable and effective.

2. Please decriminalize the lawful and appropriate responses in self-defense of the person and property, irrespective of what is used to resist violence. Please reverse this trend and policy that somehow the aggressor and victim are equally to blame.

This can be a superb combination loss-prevention, trauma center, tort-reform plan for California. In time of financial crisis, these top consumers of the public funds can be reined in.

We need your help, Governor, in this endeavor which will wonderfully help California's confidence in the community, our commerce, our image, our sense of fairness, government respect for the individual, and a badly needed individual respect for our government.

It would be my pleasure to remain available for any further information you may wish.

Respectfully, and with thanks,

John Longenecker, Jr.

Why would we need reciprocity, once our right to carry is officially recognized? I wonder if he has a "permit" to carry that pencil?

Dear Mr. Longenecker,

Thank you for your wonderful letter. It is very pleasing to know that strong pro-gun conservatives like yourself worship RINOs like me even though we despise your filthy right-wing agenda. It gives me great relief that all I need to do is keep that “R” next to my name and you will walk over broken glass to vote for me. Governor Pataki and Mike Bloomberg send their greetings and wants you to see an example of how great NY looks after three terms of his “refreshing” RINO leadership. If you think that’s good, you should see Illinois. It’s practically illegal to even THINK about guns there thanks what RINO governor George Ryan did from 1999-2003. Welcome to my America. Someday, I hope to meet you and shake your hand. I have appreciated your utter devotion over to voting “R” no matter what and your adherence to candidates with no core beliefs, whether conservative values or even personal ethics.

Mr. Longenecker, I thank for your proposal but I think you somehow forgot what you voted for. Allow me to remind you of some of my past statements: ”I really consider myself to be VERY liberal on social issues” “Gun laws should be stiffer." "The truth is, I'm a peace-loving guy, I support gun control. I always say, we need to get the guns off the streets" “I am ashamed to be a Republican” In short, I proposed a simple liberal agenda that was identical to Gray Davis on this issue and pledged to support Diane Feinstein on guns with lasting, socialist results.

As you may know, I have recently been making the rounds at the Capitol to work with Senator Feinstein to extend the federal assault weapons ban which has been one of her signature issues and which is scheduled to expire this year. Of our anti-gun agenda, I noted “we will be working together like a jewel."

My appeal to you on the gun issue is working towards this two-tiered approach:

1. Please: voluntarily gather together all your firearms, ammunition, and Nerf toys together and drop them off at California Office of Gun Confiscation, State Capitol Building, Sacramento, CA 95814. We are unable to pass a law banning all guns at this time because some right-wing crazies in Washington want to let people be able to hunt and defend themselves. However, you can still give up all guns voluntarily at this time (sorry, no compensation unless you’re an illegal alien) b) immediately encourage all your fellow California gun owners who lawfully hold firearms to do the same.

2. Please elect more RINOs like me who are 100% anti-gun but who are “electable” in this socialist state. Make sure they have “F” ratings from the NRA. Please reverse the trend and policy that conservatives should somehow be allowed to hold congressional seats and other offices in this state.

This can be a superb combination for destroying all gun rights in California. In time of financial crisis, consumers should spend more money for important stuff like late-term abortions and the welfare state, not self-protection.

We need your help, sir, in this endeavor which will wonderfully help California's confidence in me, my fellow RINOs, our liberal sense of “fairness” and “safety”, government control over the individual, and a gladly needed individual worship of our government.

It would be my pleasure to remain you gubernator for life.

And remember, everything we do is OKAY as LONG as I have an “R” next to my name!

Respectfully, and with thanks for electing me,

ARINOLD SCHWARTZEKENNEDY
Gubernator
