They actually waste valuable air time allowing a windbag like Franken to speak?

If Stern's listeners are who Harrison says, he's liable to loose 20-25% of his audience with all his Bush bashing.

You nailed it.

I had been a fan of Howard's since 1986 when he was first syndicated in Philly, but I no longer listen because of his constant Bush-bashing.

Buy a clue, Howard: the FCC in an Algore administration would have reacted the same way in the wake of the Janet Jackson boob incident. That is, if we were all here to talk about it, and not victims of another 9/11.

As a former listener of Stern and his antics, I can say that people do listen. Those who listen however, are the deviants and misfits of society. I seriously doubt Howard will have much to do with Bush losing the election. I think more would vote for Bush because Howard hates him. BTW, Howard used to like him and was a conservative when I first started listening. Howard is as big a flip-flop as kerry!

Stern supported Gore in the 2000 election. He started to cut Bush some slack right before the Iraq invasion. As far as influencing the vote, he couldn't influence his fans into buying tickets for his moderately successful movie. It should have been a smash it but the word got out that it was dull and unfunny.

Those who think Stern is simply a fool or a pornographer will have to eat crow. He's smart and he's influential and he's courageous. That doesn't mean he's right. It means he's a formidable opponent.

So basically, he is John Kerry, minus the conservative part and the long horse face!

I doubt if many Stern fans can find their way to the polling place on Election Day.

I'm guessing the b*st*rd has a lot more fans here than either of us would like to believe.

Has morning radio gotten bad around here or what?  Angelo Cataldi hyperventilating over his next surgery, Don Imus humiliating Sid Rosenberg, and Mike Smirconish's "Mens Fitness Magazine ranks Philadelphia as the fifth fattest city in America;  Do-we-need a queer-eye-for the straight-guy makeover?"
I don't even want to get into the stuff on the FM dial.  Maybe I should consider sleeping until 9am.

"Join me and friends of this show who are outraged," Stern said on the air last Friday. "Vote out every Republican you can find."
Moreover, Stern is also asking his listeners to send money to Kerry's campaign, calling the Massachusetts Senator "a good man" and praising both his record in Vietnam as well as his anti-Vietnamese war activities.

Looks like the muck-ridden Stern and his ugly program are finally going down and out in his own slime.

COULD HOWARD TOPPLE STERN?

Stern is on his way out. Only teenagers and people who never grew up waste their time listening to him. Grown-ups have moved on. It's a wonder he hasn't put family members on to strip on his show.

If Howard was really serious about his cause he'd kill himself in protest !...............yep that'd prove he was serious to me. Seems funny that he was OK with all his talking /rant points till he had to pay money out of his pocket for straying outside the guidelings that he hisself agreed to in contractual agreements etc etc......Wahhhh Howie !

Stay Safe Mich127.....

Park Howard off the NY coastline, and let him go. I think he would convert 100,000 votes by Oct. Whether that makes a difference or not...I don't know. For those nuts with no real political standing...he would be enough to convince them to change and be Kerry-folks.

Howard is no fool, but he's hardly courageous. Everything Howard says or does is done with ratings in mind. He feels this anti-Bush and martyr bit will increase ratings, and therefore income.

Howard is a simple whore for ratings. He has no core. Anyone with a memory should realize that Howard's been recycling this martyr bit for the last 15 years. This anti-Bush nonsense is just the lastest incarnation of it.

No person in this world is impervious to bitter criticism. Even if a person thinks/knows he is right, it is still eventually to get to him.

One person who is likely to be least affected by hate and vitriol is Rush Limbaugh. One of the few times Rush really let go( and he HAD to do something drastic) was when vile cretins said McVeigh of the Murrah Bldg atrocity, was inspired by Rush.

I would venture this on Stern:

Deep down he wants to be loved. He no doubt thinks this is his admission ticket to "love" from the usual suspects.
